Well, long story short. facebook marketplace, offered 200$, he said yes. Didnt run, got it running with a carb clean. So, now, this scoot is a TNG. What's special is that they were assembled in the USA and generally, a much higher end scooter than you would see in other brands. (ie real pipe, genuine 16mm mikuni carb, seems well built, heavy, etc) Now, it tops out a 38mph currently, cruising is bout 32-35ish. My goal is to be able to cruise at 50-55, and hit 60ish for top end. First order, de-restrict the pipe. This scooter has a much more complex restriction than just a washer, it has what they call a "secondary air injection system" or SAIS for short. Basically it's a complex exhuast leak for emmissions. To remove it i had to cut the steel tube that was welded in the pipe, this took about 30 minutes do to the fact they lay a ton of weld on it. Then i welded up the hole caused by removing said pipe. After that, i cut the rubber hose and zip tied it to cap off the frame (to prevent rusting) Tommorrow ill be heading for a test drive, wish me luck!

That stock pipe has a built in cat and a ton of baffles, best to bin it and find a decent expansion chamber..

Well, "tuned" the variator by seeing if taking off the washer gave it more benefit, it currently like it with the washer on. rollers are the standard type, 5 gram.
currently waiting on burrs for my Dremel to see if I can squeeze a bit more top end out of the thing before it goes bang.
gonna grab some sand paper to deck the cylinder as well.
Should be a fun one soon enough!

Very nice. F-Act cognate from the look of it. QJ machine so Keeway/Vento/CPI stuff should work. Have a Yamati (also a QJ) that I've put quite a few TNG parts into and a couple of Baotian parts as well. Agree with 190mech. Chuck that pipe. I had the same one on mine and it was a huge pain. Lots of great aftermarkets that will give a good boost and not break the bank. Have you considered any bore kits before going to hard into the transmission? I found I had to go back and revisit my prior transmission adjustments when I moved from 50cc to 70cc. It's a good looking scoot! I dig the color scheme.

Yeah, pipes gonna be chucked once I start going into the motor. for bore kits, I've been looking into some stage 6 and polini corsa stuff, haven't decided if im gonna spend the money on them yet. ill probably settle for a sport style kit. for pipes, leaning towards the Yasuni c16 on this one, or possibly getting the R and derestricting it. temped on making this my first stroker build as well. everything is out in the open currently.

Heck yeah. Gotta de-restrict the pipe for sure. The Yasunis that I messed with had two - one in the neck and one in the muffler. Both are really easy to get to. Some retailers sell versions of those pipes that only have them in the neck, so super easy -but check the can just to be sure
Stage6 Pro Rep is a mean ass pipe with a good reputation as well. I've only ever messed with the Stage6 mild street pipe, but even that is pretty decent and only had the neck restriction.
Sounds like it gonna be fun on the bun! Keep us posted.

yup, I've got a pro rep on my Riva, after de-restricting the pipe it was hauling pretty good. I've been torn between an over-range pulley or a re-gear, since id want to cruise around 50ish (lots of flat farm roads near me) and a top end of 60-65. but we will cross that bridge when we get there right

NOOO to pod filter!!Stock airbox with snorkel removed..Tuning will be waay easier.. Where's the fun in that I mean, the stocker is pretty quiet, also its missing the actual element inside of it lol. figured it'll atleast sound faster in my mind.

Us old dudes have tried that many times,,the calm air flow of the stock airbox allows the carb to transition between circuits smoothly,an open filter changes that drastically!Have used a stock airbox with a 125cc RM cylinder graft and it did great...

Go for it!
main thing you get jets and carb tuning skills. have fun.
...or do like me and run it with just a fine mesh and a bell mouth.

Read my ‘08 Keeway F-act build thread. If this scooter of yours truly is a CPI Vento Keeway machine you should have a 12mm wrist pin and the 16mm diameter spline crank. I have a Stage6 street race 70 cylinder, Giannelli Reverse exhaust, China copy 19mm Dellorto with a cone shape air filter and a straight groove torque driver. I drilled two 3/8 holes in each clutch shoe to increase take off rpm.
I leaves at 9k and stays there nice and flat until 45? then it climbs to 10k at 59 mph top speed. Averages 40mpg
