Got the 800mm malossi kevlar belt installed last night. This is the belt travel on the variator with a stock belt. This is the rear pully fitment after installing the malossi belt. You can compare it to the picture I posted prior of the rear pully. Belt sits much closer to flush in the rear pully. After the belt breaks in I will be re checking the belt travel markings again and possibly do more shaping on the variator side. For the degree wheel I need to come up with a easy way to mount it. The supplied mounting hole is too small to be very usefull. Maybe ill measure out and drill the fan bolt pattern on to it. Or possibly drill the center hole over size to fit onto my flywheel puller. Havent deciced yet.

Anyone have any idea what is a good reliable heavy high stall clutch spring? I am currently using the supplied stage 6 red springs on my adjustable clutch. I plan on going to a yasuni c16 on the next round of upgrades. I already have the spring adjustmant nearly maxed out to launch well with my current yasuni z and expect I might need to stall the clutch slightly higher then I currently am.
Im not entierly sure if the red springs stage 6 supplied in the kit are the the stiffest spring they offer.

Isn't the red ones only an option? Mine came with white and orange springs.

It came with a set of red and white springs. If I go by how they color code their springs the reds are either medium or hard. The clutch is advertised as having the hard red springs included but the stall with the adjustment maxxed seams more like a medium+ not hard. Maybe I accidentally got a set of medium springs included insted seince they are both red.
Possibility they got overheated when the last belt was slipping and failed but im not sure.

Also got side swiped / hit by a minivan on my way into work tonight. Kept the bike upright with no damage. Took a headlight to the ribs and a bumper to the hip.
Stay safe out there guys.

So update. Been doing some research on pipes. The yasuni z is great off the line but it seams to fall on its face shortly after the cylinder really takes off. Have done my best to try and see if it was carb related. Got the setup running great now and even with the cvt mods it still seams to fall off hard topend. Not surprised the pipe was never ment to rev that high.
I have settled on the yasuni c16 for now. As tempting as the c21 is I have way to many sever uphills in my area to sacrifice the lower end power. I could try to set up the cvt for super high rpm but im enjoying not having to be wide open throttle all the time.
Reading around on here and looking at dyno graphs for similar cylinders i think the c16 will end up working out better in the hills so ill most likely pick one up soon.

The Yasuni Z really runs out of steam last 9,500RPM. Where the C16 makes real good power from the point the Z struggles. I like the C16, it's got a good power band for something that revs so high. It's just pretty noisy.

The bike is already pretty loud as it is. I might play around with different muffler options to try and quiet it a bit. Will have to see once I can afford picking one up. Just got my jeep on the road and it needs a clutch so thats first on the list.

Also pulled the cover on the trans to look at belt ware and travel. Everything looks good and the belt is sitting happy just barely past flush now. Also gained a little belt travel from what I can see on the marks for the variator.

Took the sccot for a short ride today. With the new belt and variator mods it topped out at 47. Seams like i have a potental vacume leak. Power is good but every once in a while it acts lean. Its done it at all throttle positions and comes and goes seamingly at random. Im thinking of pickint up a leakdown tester before upgrading the pipe to make sure the case holds pressure.
Otherwise I will be buying a new carb. Last time I opened the carb bowl I noticed that the naraku 19mm carb was also painted inside the bowl with I assume the same black paint thats on the outside of the carb. It was begining to peal off the inside surfaces of the carb and I assume it was either injested by the engine or its now inside the carb passages. This carb has always been a huge pain to get tuned right but its reliable once set up correctly. The paint pealing and possibly clogging the jets or worse the internals of the carb would explain why I seam to need to tune it repetativly. Never noticed any paint in the jets but its gotta be going somewhere.
I did clean as much paint off the inside of the carb as possible but im affraid its already worked its way deeper into the carb.

Looks like you are having to get a better exhaust. The cylinder really deserves it.
