It gets real spendy by at least double when you venture into mid race land of higher revving builds you would need to upgrade your build list and add a lot of supporting parts .

Well, that's not what I want honestly. The main goal of this setup is speed, but right after that is reliability, so definitely I will stick with the Iron Cast. My Zip has a Dellorto 12mm (guess the original one was a Weber), but it wasn't replaced by me. So should I go to 17.5 or the 19 once I need to buy a new one? EDIT: There's a mid-race Polini Corsa for a couple more money, but I don't know if the Doppler Shaft that I have in mind would allow me to run this kit safely.

I would just go with your original plan first. Later if you need more, go all in. One thing to remember, zips are very light, with small wheels and a short wheel base. This makes them nimble and quick. But very high speed isn't something they are comfortable with.

But yeah, mine has 90-90-10 front and rear, so yeah, little wheels 😂 One thing that should be improved, is the braking system, because it has no disc at front, but it is what it is.

The Zip and my Vinos have similar wheel base and size tires. I thought about going with a faster set up for the vinos but the brakes and suspension cannot keep up with anything over a mild sport build (cast 70 cc low revving street pipe) On the Flats with no wind they both push 80 kph . With a higher revving pipe Like the Yasuni R ,I would expect the same set up to push 90 kph.

One thing to consider is the Air filter connection on the 17.5 is 35mm. The 19mm carb is 38mm, so may require a little work to fit the standard air box. I thought all zips had a front disc?

But I would be much more happy if I got power wheelies 😎

Probably will tune the air box to the carb. I don't want to fit a open air filter because is hard to set it up properly considering the weather. The first Gen of Zips don't have front disc. Sadly. I would like to improve it, but it will cost me a lot to adapt.

Well, I'm looking forward to pick one Polini CP 19 but the air filter connection is about 46mm wide, so I need to found something to build with it.

Your front brake should be enough as long as it,s properly adjusted and maintained. An upgrade to disc would be arduous.

Well, look like that's not expensive to build, at all...Guess the most expensive thing on that build, actually was the crank. But 70mph still a good achievement, even considering it was a Malossi Sport ported. But if it's doable with a Malossi, it could be done on the Black Trophy as well. And having that in mind, that's why I will ask to a proper mechanic (karting and 2T specialist) to tune up my lil Zip. Oh and btw, I'm waiting the price for a suspension + wheels + brake calipper from a 2006 Zip I guess.

Geoff As I said to Zino, there's a chance to swap my front suspension, both wheels + brake caliper. Let's see if the price doesn't go too high. If it does, I will improve the current brake system, because it hasn't been done so far.

So, having in mind future upgrades, I'm considering going for a different crank. I was looking for the Doppler Endurance, but I heard that Jasil/Top Racing Hi-Tec are good ones as well. Any tip on the crank?
Oh, I'm gonna for a Polini CP 19 over the Dellorto.

Lads, thank you so much for your help but this project has come to an end, right before it started!
Next Friday I'll pick up my next Scooter. It's a Piaggio as well, any tip? 😎
