I miss my old cut down and have been thinking of building another so when engine casings came up for £60 gotthe ball rolling. Spoke to the chap and he has new crank 150 barrel and piston with hardly any use and engine internals all for an extra £40 and a garage of some other bits I need like head stock shocks and what I see when get there in June as 200 miles away. I arranged to hit Aldershot when I cleaned up my fathers grave in Crondall.
Meanwhile a cutdown frame came up for£150 in Sheffied which either I will collect after work next Friday about 100 mile from work or I shall get my daughter to collect it and get it from hers. Frame is a 1980 one so no indicators needed saves on my wiring skills, no holes in frame saves on my welding skills and has a vin number so can register it with DVLA.
Then the long term rat build will begin, hopefully when I see some bargain parts for sale..................Stay tuned.

You wait till your wife wakes up! Just use the old, I was drunk, and maybe brought something on eBay line. Again!
My brother lives in Aldershot. Small world isn't it?

Frame picked up from Barnsley, set of forks being posted out Monday now for the 250 mile drive home. Hopefully not so many accidents as there was on way up. Amazing what fits in a motorized hamster wheel.

Today I cleaned shed and got scooter in. Renamed the title of project as not that neat on the cutting side. I must have started cleaning that shed out about a year ago still all done now for another decade.

I approve of this! A cutdown is really the only Vespa I ever wanted.

After some research I have found the frame is a px200 from 1980. That means I do not need indicators, front brake light switch and put a sidecar on the right if I so wish instead of the left as is UK law from sometime in the early 80's

I may have found a pair of tatty vespa sprint side panels on fleabay for £60 that matches the state of the patina perfectly. No painting required Also mine has the earlier type side cathes too. Just having a think before I buy as cannot find any mk1 px panels.
