Nice Work! im Happy for you. once you install that Yasuni C16, you will end up raising the roof (porting) to Corsa spec, thus the Cortessa. i have read about the Cortessa on another forum. that bike with C16 and ported Contessa would be a Hammer! just a thought. you might want to think twice about pegging out the speedometer. did that on my Chinarelli a lot and the speedo stopped working. i thought it was a faulty cable and replaced it, did not fix problem. looked into buying a new speedo gear but in the end, i found that the input tabs on the wheel adapter that interfaces with the speedo gear got worn/ground down from pegging the needle. For sure! I'm running a Corsa/C16 on one of my prebugs, and it's a blast. I'm at peace with the possibility of busting the speedo. I may end up converting to a Trailtech Vapor down the road anyways. with that kind of Speed, you should be looking into front disk break conversion. i would put a big break kit on it with a 220mm floating rotor. At that Speed, you need power to be able to Stop as well, if not DANGER Will Robinson! maybe some performance tires that are rated for 65+MPH as well.
These drums are in really good shape. I think disk brakes could give me more modulation, but the real limiting factor is the small contact patch of these 90/90-10 tires. I think I could lock them up if I grabbed hard enough. For the time being, this thing will spend most of it's life at 40-50mph just due to hills/traffic. It could happen though. Is this the grab bar from Tim brown or who ever that guy is on facebook? Yep! He did really good work on this. The fit and finish is as good as a factory rack.

I'm now 1100 or so miles into running this bore. It has been problem free the entire time. There is some more tuning I could tinker with, but it's just been so reliable I didn't want to change anything. Well, I've been meaning to change the air filter to an angled one that tucks up under the plastics better, and yester after hitting a big bump the air filter pushed the side skirt out. So I went ahead and pulled the filter on the prebug and elite to clean and then swap. Ooof, what have I done? So much crap getting to the carb. I should have pulled and cleaned this thing earlier. Now I'm scared to see what the cylinder looks like. It still feels like it has good compression so maybe I don't look until I absolutely have to. Maybe the whole time it was just self sabotage so I have to purchase the corsa and pg long that have been sitting in my treatland cart for months now. Might as well inspect the CVT now that I'm working on the damn thing. Drive face is pretty ate up. Unsure if this is all just from belt wear. What do you expect with a $20 drive face from aliexpress Belt down to 14.7mm from 15.5mm. Honda spec is 15mm so I'm a little past due on this as well. Time to order a new belt. Ramp plate was missing a guide. Rollers are starting to flatspot. And clutch is pretty glazed. So I replaced the guide and rollers and scuffed the clutch pads up a little.

As luck would have it, since I started messing with the bike again, issues start to arise. Despite not even touching it, the spark plug cap decided it no longer wanted to hold on. Instead of replacing with a similar cap, I decided to try a cap for terminal nut instead of terminal stud. I'm not sure why the different types exist...anyone know? Anyways, NGK 8031 / LB05P Also, the clutch has engaged too early since I've put it on. I have a set of Polini clutch springs that are marketed for Dio/Elite/ZX50 etc, but they don't match stock clutch or the TFC clutch I have. In the mean time, I swapped a Malossi Delta clutch out for a Stage6 Torque Control MKII on one of my Zumas. A little digging, and it looks like the Delta will work on the Elite since I am using a 107mm bell. I already have a set of tuning springs for this clutch. shorter pad, but fatter. Looks like the scuffing up I did on the TFC the other night wasn't enough. Looks slick already. Fits no problem. Leaving the red clutch springs in. A quick run around the neighborhood, and I'm VERY happy with the clutch swap. I should have messed with this ages ago. I also received this nifty little front basket in the mail. I'm still unsure if it will end up on this bike or one of the new black Elites I just picked up.

i think your fuel filter is installed backwards, but main thing, get fuel filter.
what is your plan for the PG Long pipe? Flip cone? if not better of spending the money on a Yasuni as far as quality.

It is haha. It still filters this direction, just gets clogged easy. I had issues with that when I first got it, but didn't know any better. Now that I know better, it doesn't get clogged anymore, but I've just been lazy to flip it. Now that it's been noticed I guess I have to flip it. PG long just seems like a good cheap bolt on option that would make more power with a Corsa than the v8 style pipe on right now. I know of the flip cone, I just don't really have a good idea of how it's actually done. It'd be great if I could find some pictures of what actually is going on with the flip cone. Of course I still have the C16 for vert minarelli as well. I really need to spend more time on that idea.

Of course I still have the C16 for vert minarelli as well. I really need to spend more time on that idea. Never actually done it with my own hands but but the flip cone is done by I 1st cutting off the fat section towards the end I believe and the inner baffle That is normally pointed the pointed towards the end of the exhaust and expands towards the front of the exhaust like an expansion chamber You need to flip the inner baffle cone so that the pointed smaller end faces the front of the exhaust instead of how a normal one sits Which I thought when I 1st was told this was very strange because how would it make more power because you're taking a full wave sort of full wave Although it has holes in it, So when it's all set and done the inner cone is actually flipped the opposite of what you would expect a 2 stroke pipe to be designed like to give power.... But yeah that's it you just flip the inner cone which is a perforated baffle, Always wondered how the h*** that makes more power but there's plenty of people on Hawaii that no more about these pipes than me that can a test to this being true.... I was on the North Shore the other day and I saw no less than a 102 strokes cruising the North Shore it's an annual cruise they do and and they were all AF engines too bad I'm waiting on my stater plate because I would have loved to gone down there and raced a few.... Always next year....

I have been having clearance issues with the air filter hitting the side skirts when the suspension compresses. Sometimes it will pop with side skirt out. I came up with this as a solution. 45* hose with a coupler at the end for the filter to mount on. It now tucks up quite nicely. I don't know if there is a better solution as I'd rather not trim the skirts. The silicone hose is not ideal as if it gets fuel and gas on it, it will probably start to swell. But since the proof of concept works, I can and may replace with fuel filler hose.

Ooof! long time no update. That intake solution fell off pretty shortly after installing. I've just been riding without the sideskirt. I don't think I've touched anything else on the bike since. Kinda sad looking back in this thread and seeing how long the corsa/c16/crank/variator have all just been sitting around. I think I'm now around 2200 miles on the Polini Contessa. 10/10 would recommend. It's been feeling like it's running a hair lean lately, and I sold the silver wheels off of the bike to a friend. Seems like a good time to put it under the knife. I have the motor off now and plan on doing a leakdown test this weekend to see if I've developed a leak, just for science. Then hopefully I can start moving forward with getting the new parts installed.

Didn't end up wasting my time doing a leakdown test. Can't believe it was still running as well as it was. I've also been without a working CHT sensor for the last few hundred miles And actually after pulling the carb off, I don't think the rubber intake boot was leaking at all. Although it's sad to see these becoming wear items for what Stage6 charges for them.

Sometimes it's amazing how these simple engines will keep going when you find stuff like that. Clean it all then buy another bike to fit it to. 🙊

Motor is back together with Malossi crank and Polini Corsa cylinder. Leak down test fail. Big leak where there reeds are sandwiched in the reed block. I'll pull it apart and re-honda bond it this afternoon hopefully. More on this guy soon. I'll test the new cylinder with the old pipe on first, just to see a more direct comparison.

Running! Still have the v8 pipe on there until I get a few things figured out with c16. Now has CP24 evo carb on. Corsa Cylinder. Malossi crank. No other changes. Went from 106 main 38 pilot on the CP21 evo to 108 main 40 pilot with the new carb. It was running really lean. So I pulled the motor and did another leakdown test. It's sealed well. May put some hondabond on the exhaust gasket.
I did swap the cp21 back on and it ran better than with the cp24. I don't think that I'm having any issues with air leak at the carb. The cp24 might just require that much more fuel. I'll go a few sizes up and see where I'm at. Pilot is pretty close.
