Thought I'd post this somewhere so others might give it a go also! hippo008 sent me a PM about a possible graft to a mo-betta pipe,so how can I say no??He sent a new pipe that UPS did their best to smash,but the packing was great and not a scratch!!Removed the existing pipe from my "AF16 without a cause" and started fitting,,the fitment is close,just needed a longer new slip adapter to join it to the AF16; Had a flange,but the tube diameter was metric,so I got a piece of thick 4130 and machined it to size; Here is the new flange parts ready to fit up; Needed a slight angle adjustment so got an angle cut to make it happen; Fitment looked good; BossMan keeping an eye on the project; Finished welding out the flange,mount bracket butchering next;

I didnt realize you had a build thread going for this bad boy. You made a lot of progress already! Im surprised how fast it came together.
Are you using the stock Yasuni bracketry? I know repherence2 needed to modify his bracket to space out the belly of the pipe.

I know repherence2 needed to modify his bracket to space out the belly of the pipe. The bracket solution is really up to preference to how you want the pipe located. I was just being kinda lazy with my solution. An alternative would be to make a small bracket that mounts to the engine case and drill holes on the small bracket to align with the existing holes on the yasuni pipe bracket. I just went with a simple solution, in accordance with what the hardware store had available (bolts and spacers). Many ways to skin the cat. Maybe with a different fan shroud you can get a closer fit as well but i didnt want the pipe too close to my koso fan shroud.

I hacked up the C16 bracket and made it fit the AF16,not proud of it as it shifted while tack welding,but hey 'it'll work'; Made an aluminum spacer on the FWD mount to cant the pipe closer in towards the wheel; Here is the cut angle of the cylinder flange; Will make up some drawings for the DIY guys soon...

Looks great! It looks good on the bikes frame too. I dont think I will have an issue with clearance around the side skirts. I bet this thing will put out a lot more performance than the Arrow im currently running. Send me a PM so I can pay to ship it back and whatever I owe you. I live in a neighborhood with a few other families. I currently am running my Arrow Dio pipe with an open filter and shes a SCREAMER. Its so loud you can hear the bike from the next street over. Im hoping this Yasuni Silencer and my modified airbox will be the ticket.

hippo008 did you make a "tuned" air box like naek96 (?) did?
as far as neighbors... i have found that if you are a "nice" neighbor, you can get away with having a loud moped/scooter. "nice" as in don't go rippin' it down the road you live on. say hi or wave to your neighbors when you see them, chat with them. i have found that there is a kind of "amnesty" when you do things like that. ...but maybe it only works like that here in Hawaii. the old lady that lived in the apartment unit below me used to bring me lunch when she knew i was downstairs working on my moped. but then again, i used to help her with small plumbing issues because she was afraid that if she told the landlord about it, the repairs would result in a rent increase. she felt safe knowing that i lived in the unit above her. i guess it depends on the kind of people that live around you. culture here in hawaii is different versus on the mainland. for me, if you're respectful to neighbors, and not make a lot of unnecessary noise when you ride down your street, they will tolerate it. i guess for us in hawaii, Aloha aku, aloha mai. "you give Aloha, you get Aloha".

I live in New England my man. Best way to describe people here is "kind but not nice". They will help you move and plow your driveway after a big storm but they arent outwardly nice people. In fairness to my neighbors nobody has complained. I try and run the scoot only during daylight hours and never ripping up and down the street. I figure if one of them owned a loud bike or car I wouldnt like it running all the time either. Just in case I am still taking some preventative action and bought an NCY Dio pipe. Much quieter and still OK performance. What pipe I end up using I am not sure. I modified a stock AF28 airbox. Ill take some photos and post those. Im not a big fan of the look though. Because the carb is much further back than the stock carb the airbox sticks way out the back of the scooter. I think it looks silly.
