got a new 2021 buddy50. broke it in like i stole it, to the manual its probly still not broken in anyway. put a yasuni r exhaust. malossi multivar on 6.5g rollis. tryd to mod the carb but there is a fat glob of jbweld on the air screw but, put a 90 primary jet came stock with a 40 idle i think thats what i read. i wanted to move the needle but it was pretty stuck in there didnt want to bend it.thats my engine setup for now, i live at sealevel. I "think" its running too rich. it has good power, get to 45mph pretty fast, wife following me with the car speed check. temp runs around town 210. question; i wot for around 3 miles then let off and it dies, when running in wot the temp is about 280 when it dies it goes to 310 then ill slowly kick it with the kicker to see if it seized but its good and it will start up, not right up but it will start. im running a koso temp gauge to the spark plug. thanks if anyone has any intuition.
im waiting for the 70cc stage6 streetrace and polini 21cp, i have a stage6 clutch and bell but didnt want to waste it on the stock cylinder. I have been searching, youtubing, parts crossing, about these motors and took a chance and order a crank from Denmark. hopfully it doesnt turn into a $220 paperweight. i plan on making this something i can hammer on, its fun and i crack myself up. ill upload pictures

bought the pipe from s23 i think they call themselves now. initialy payed them, with tip to do a build list, got nothing and they stop answering my questions,,, oh wells what goes around comes around. scootertuningca plugin. the bracket is out of 1/8" steel plate, a vice, sledge, jigsaw, drill, a carbide bit, and some sandpaper. I made a template with cardboard then cut it out the metal. the pipe mounted, isnt perfectly parallel with the motor so if u see the back bolt has a grade8 washer spacing it out. i seen someone broke their exhaust manifold on the head with this pipe... could be something little like that and a pothole and cylinder out the window. the bracket that came with it was useless but i used the aluminum spacers it came with.

Welcome to the forum . The Buddy is a good platform to build up . Here is a good thread to read by Ohh buddy 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/12607/ohhbuddys-47mph-genuine-buddy-70ccToo help out the next guy if you have a picture of your cardbord template with measurements that would be helpful. as far as your carb settings and temps. Those sound about right maybe a notch rich . When it shusts off after a wide open run does it spuuer then quit or just boom done and you coast.

Welcome to the forum. That's normal for the temperature to jump when the bikes shut off. It's got no cooling going to the cylinder.

Zino, sorry i trashed the template but ill re measure it and make a new one. made it out of 1/8"x6"x2' flat plate i bought from Napa, bending the plate was the hard part and i wanted the mount for the rear fender. for when the scoot dies it does kinda sputter,, I had an elite ages ago that i seized it kinda sounded like that when i seized it but when i went to kick it, it was locked, where the buddy can still start back up. thanks for the link. Im not looking to make top speed but I was definetly trying to find which PGO scooter the Buddy crossed to, and i ordered the correct crank hopefully.

koso temp gauge is mounted to the bag hook screw. put a ncy needle bearing qck throttle, unplugged the start button kill switch, scoot still runs without the switches, just need the key. The throttle cable i got from scootertuningca it is too long about 76" looped around under the seat. Im having a hard time find the shorter one so i might jus order a custom one from motion pro.
