This is a replacement for the stolen Yamaha Jog(commuter build) and as such this is not my first rodeo!! It was an urgent purchase to preserve matrimonial bliss So it popped up for sale on eBay tuesday evening, full title, mot, road ready and three miles from home, picked it up Wednesday insurance sorted and road tax paid ready for the Thursday commute,it starts stops and rides as you,d expect job done,it has a few problems and I need to research what I have bought into. peugot kisbee 50cc 4T 2014 14,765 k or miles not sure yet but assume k,s (edit it,s kilometers) Good mot history, lots of work done 2 years ago, rides well ,35mph at least so it,s been "adjusted" and is comfy. Milly will be proud of you Geoff! Not a lot of performance to be gained by the exhaust. But will probably be better made that the Chinese original. Peugeot parts seem to be harder to get hold of. It's like they want you to order from a dealer. 😞 At 35mph it's probably restricted still. They do the tests to brand new engines. So you get a few miles when it loosens up.

I will get the silent pro because I would always be thinking about it,postman came today V5 in my name and the Haynes manual arrived so I have lots of reading to do.I slapped a lot of exhaust repair paste and bandage around the silencer and it,s a lot quieter now The kisbee has a milly panel to get to the spark plug.my go to guys for parts are Euro Scooters sadly they won,t take orders over the phone and the only way to contact them is by email, that's difficult when you want something "now" but hey ho I will order the exhaust and a service kit during the week.Mrs H likes the scoot it has stature !!. I have at last placed an order with euro scoots, after a series of emails requesting help and not getting it I have plumped with trusting the parts listing,I have complained about the email only policy, let's see if they reply and I get my order in good order.still cleaning, and using the tech section to gen up on valve setting Geoff

Silencer arrived in good time,it,s fitted and working fine, instantly quieter and better take off,the exhaust came with a few bolts and spacers which must be a cure all kit. I found that leaning the scoot over gave the best access to the flange bolts ,removal and refitting was straight forward. Geoff

A week on and all is good five trips to work all OK if just a bit pedestrian,I have replaced the air filter and had a quick look at the CDI it,s been altered some wires have been chopped and reconnected, but it starts and runs so I am reluctant to dive in and unfix a working scoot Here's my list so far!! Front lights are dull and Brighton up when brake applied!! Tick over is high and variable Hill starts are difficult it will stall when cold A shifty look at the CVT shows a lot of travel left on the variator a good 10mm left to gain,I think I have a "sports" vari on grandad that will fit Geoff

The brake, lights thing sounds like a bad earth.

Yeah a bad earth most likely I will chase it down, the new job means my breakdown plan has to change it,s a heavy scoot and pushing it home will take hours.I have rolled the dice and picked a recovery firm that promise to repair at the roadside or recover the scoot to home, annual cover is £29 after filling in forms and downloading apps I think I have it covered but I hope I don't need to use it Geoff

2 forward 3 back then 1 forward its a dance I managed to fit the air filter wrong and splayed the housing open which caused some erratic running problems during the week I have fixed that problem with duct tape.I have replaced the front lights for led,s kinda dodging the bad earth problem but hey ho.I had a good look at the variator and cannot see any restriction but the rollers are very light so I have swapped them out for 6g and the take off is much better and the top end is still there,so there,s some room for tweaking.I have managed to free the mirrors and they are now adjustable but still seem useless!!. To do list. Oil change Tappet setting PAIR system removal?? repair front panel tabs Adjust tick over, only relevant for the 3 possible red lights on the commute Man up and tackle maintaining a new ( to me ) type of carb, the mixture screw is sealed and capped. I may buy a new carb to use just so I can keep this scoot running through winter. Filled the tank up 60 miles ago and it,s just below full now so that's a big plus. These carbs are quite easily to remove the seals. The mixture screw is just a brass plug. You can drill this out, and the screw is behind it. Just keep going up in drill sizes till you can pull it out. The carb bowl is probably fitted with snap off heads too. An easy out will remove them no problem. Or drill the head off, then remove with pliers. You might have a restriction in the carb, that limits the slide travel.
