Thanks,here's the score,I bought a vclick engine to just swap the engine when the problem started in a short case mines a long case but the cam shaft and oil pump are the same so I,ve transplanted them into the kisbee engine,spent the night reassembling ,it,s a steep learning curve I will be able to fire it up soon so fingers crossed.

I tried the listening rod trick it was iinconcluseive, my local scrappers have no stock,the kisbee might be on it,s way to them

But I think you have missed an opportunity to fit a higher lift cam. 😉

O dear boxed up back up and running the noise is still there I am afraid this will detonate on route to work,it,s a well paid job and I need to be reliable to keep it. So I am going to park this scoot in the garage and cure it later, I went to my Yamaha dealer last week to get a Delight 125 but they are on back order till April,the scoot market local is crazy overpriced so I am going shopping for a new scoot just seen a lambretta that I fancy ,at least that should hold it,s value if I can trade it for new yammy.

Have you considered The Piaggio liberty? It's slightly cheaper than The Yamaha. Has the great reliability of the i-get engine. Dealers and parts shouldn't be a problem.
The Piaggio liberty has 10.8hp. The D’elight only 8.3hp, so you would really notice the difference in performance. But should return about the same fuel economy.

It,s a done deal picking up new scoot Tuesday pm lambretta V125 special,10.1 HP I believe :)I know it,s a dressed up sym ???yet another build thread to begin.it,s a lump of money for me to lay out and it,s hopefully reliable,plus point is it,s battle ship grey so I will have to stay away from schools etc .The new job generates some gratuities which equate to free fuel
