Unlimited Rev CDI vs. Stock CDI?

I just upgraded to the 72cc big bore kit in my chinese scooter. Is the Unlimted rev cdi box necessary? Should I use the stock CDI box? is there a difference? thanks guys!

As long as your stock CDI isn't rev limited, I wouldn't bother buying a new one. They are hit or miss if they actually have different timing curves or do much of anything other than remove a rev limit.

you can wallow out the holes on the ignition trigger mount and move it to the left just a tad but not much it dont take much, this will bump your timing up. mark it first so you will know where it was and can put it back if you need to. I think a bone stock 150 CDI plugs right in (in fact I know it does) and that wouldn't be restricted.... Unless you have done some heavier mods than just increasing displacement I myself wouldn't buy any race CDI. Those will have different timing curves as Brent said and might actually be worse in performance and can effect engine longevity....

i have personally bought the scrappy dog cdi coil combo and liked it very much. i also have a 72cc kit and a pipe. i think it provided alotta bang for the buck at about 40 dlls. (the pipe is the scrappy dog also. i say never buy one from them, horrible fitment all around.)
