My wife would not be happy if 36 scooters showed up . But I sure would. In my area an OK shape stock Dio sells for $2000 all day long. After the cost of goods you're looking at a $62,000 profit. I've tossed the idea around with some club members about splitting the deal three ways and going in on a container.

Wow nice scoot! Bummer about the case the small half of Af16 engines were available from partzilla a few years ago you should be able to locate one of those not sure if the small half has any differences. This is definitely on my bucket list! We get lots of dios in the Bronx never a g-dash or Bajas! Can’t wait to see how this turns out🛵🔥💨

Lots of progress this weekend. My shop was an absolute mess so I did a quick cleanup before I got working. I put together the engine and it pressure tested OK. After some finagling I was able to get the engine back into the frame with just a kicker cup and kicker installed for testing. After a few starts I removed the gas tank and the fueling system to cleanout the tank and install new lines. After another start to verify the fuel was pumpin' I installed the new CVT components. I am using a Polini variator, ZX oversize rear pulley, Malossi Kevlar belt, stock clutch w/ 1500RPM springs, 1000RPM Contra and stock Bell. At some point down the road I plan to swap the bell for a TFS or JISO bell. Checkout the difference in size between the stock rear pulley and the oversize ZX pulley. After some cleanup I removed the bottom nose cowling and we had a roller! It has totally flat and split tires but it does in fact roll so I'm counting it I wanted to work on the white plastics next. They were in pretty good shape outside some scuffs and general grime. I washed them down with dish soap and a nylon bristle brush but the stains and scuffs remained. When I worked on boats I learned that Mr.Clean Magic Erasers totally remove most stains and grime from gelcoat. I happened to have a few laying about so I gave it a try and it worked great! The film of dirt and grime is gone and the scuffs are removed. Before After Next StepsThe throttle cable is about 1 foot too long. I need to get a shorter cable but im not sure what one will work. I need to mount the new tires I purchased and paint the wheels white. The CVT is way out of tune, that needs a cleanup for sure. I have Trailtech Vapor I purchased for this scoot but I am not sure how to mount it. I think I will need to have a bracket 3D printed so I can place the Vapor in a spot that doesnt interfere with the stock gauges or the cool Baja bar pad. Does anyone have a 3D printer and is willing to lend a hand? More to come!

If the TT Vapor still comes with the handle bar clamp the left side seems to work best but you have to use the bracket in reverse this will push your grip approx 3/8 to the outside but will leave the bike untouched as far as damage. Damn nice job on those plastics that scoot is 🔥

its funny the in the Honda realm a lot of people seek the infamous ZX trans. i read about them years ago on the honda foum so i went to a local shop (Mopeds Plus) and bought a ZX pulley. i thought there was something special about them, possible poor-man's over-range rear pulley. i wanted to try it out on my chinarelli but it did not fit. the bearings were the same but the location of the bearing that is closest to the clutch nut is different between minarelli and honda.
so my ZX pulley sat around for years unused. then i picked up the DD50 engine and upon tear down and inspection, i found that the stock SYM DD50 pulley was worn. so i busted out the ZX pulley that i had and found them to be the same diameter. that is when it dawned on me that the AF engines came with a small rear pulley, hence the lure of the ZX trans modification.

Unfortunately I'll have to postpone demon mode. The cases for the 140cc stroker are small spline cases. I have the seals but I don't have the bearings. Apparently the small spline cases use a thinner bearing than the later af18 and af16 cases.
I've looked around but I can't find any thinner bearings for these cases. Any ideas?

there is another guy on oahu that goes by veedubh20 on the honda spree forum. he might have what you are looking for.
"Dm mobile 8083983425. Thanks! Allen" it's worth a try to text him.
or go on Cr@igslist, go to "oahu", then to "for sale", then in the search box in the "for sale" section type in DIO. there are posts by guys selling cranks and other parts. text those guys to see if they have the bearing that you are looking for.

check vt cycles on ebay he has them i think That was the first place I checked. I ended up calling Glenn's in Hawaii and he had a few sets. I'm calling back tomorrow to have them shipped to me. In the meantime that gives me time to work on my other projects.

I've got the 120 broken back down. I'm just waiting on the SmartCarb and the bearings to come back in. In the meantime I rebuilt my Corsa motor and put that in the Baja just so I can get out on the road. I'm running the arrow pipe until I can get the C16 mocked up and running well. The current motor setup is this Polini Corsa Malossi MHR crank Honda bearings New OEM seals Lightly ported AF18E cases Polini PWK 24 50mm Bellmouth TWH manifold Polini Variator Malossi Kevlar ZX belt ZX Rear Pulley Polini 4Race clutch TFS clutch bell Arrow Limited Exhaust -> Changing to Yasuni C16 when I get the bracket sorted I got some other stuff sorted out too. I got the Trailtech Vapor mounted up and running well. I accidentally ordered the wrong color seat cover so that needs to be changed. I have the cover and some other styling parts coming in from Taiwan. I installed my S23 wheels but I don't like the black wheels on this scoot. I'm going to change them over to the OEM white wheels for a better look. I still need to do some work on the plastics and the headset. There's some rust on the rear rack too. Once I have another running scooter I am going to take some of these parts off and restore them. I want this scoot to be very clean and well put together.

Pipe came in. I'm fairly happy with it. It's made of some very thick metal and the welds seem good. No word on noise or performance yet!

I finished building the 130(?)cc stroker motor. It's a weird motor, the engine cases are small spline AF18 cases and the bearings are special machined bearings that are slightly thinner than OEM bearings. The crank is a JISO and the cylinder is a TWH. I may end up going with a Level 10 cylinder later, the ports and engineering are done to a much higher standard on the Level 10 and JISO stuff I've found. The motor runs very well. The Level 10 pipe sounds awesome and is very quiet, just as quiet if not more quiet than my NCY pipe which is a major bonus. It's amazing a full canister pipe can be so quiet. I picked up some very special parts for this build. I've always wanted to try the JISO suspension and CVT stuff so I ended up ordering a JISO CVT kit and a set of full length JISO legs. Sone special parts came in from a buddy of mine overseas and I got those installed today as well. If anyone knows where I can get those trapezoidal license plate holders for Japanese plates let me know! I really want the full look.

I have been looking at some similar but the cheapest I found em for was around 100 , what did you pay? and how was quality?

I purchased the stem off aliexpress, I paid about $50 shipped. It feels good in terms of quality. The clamps that hold the suspension legs in place are made of aluminum and not steel but the aluminum seems pretty thick. The Honda tree is totally steel so I have no doubt the OEM is more durable than the aftermarket component.
