The weather is slated to warm up this weekend and Ive got the bug to get some work done.

Im a tinkerer by nature and I am constantly messing with my setups. The result is that none of my scoots are ever running for very long and none of them stay in a state of High-tune. With the surprise warm weather I would have liked to take something out for a ride but thats not possible given the my perpensity to tinker. Right before the end of the season I decided to finally settle on an engine setup for the Baja. The goal is a highly reliable and easy to tune setup I can ride everyday. I wanted to use the most reliable and highest end parts I could muster.

The goal setup is as follows. I bought all the parts already outside whatever carb setup I decide on.

Malossi Cast 70cc cylinder
Malossi MHR Crankshaft
Stage6 intake manifold
28mm SmartCarb (maybe). I will need a different needle from SmartCarb
Malossi reinforced small end bearing
New steel cage crank bearings
Red Mole pipe
JISO variator 98mm
JISO drive face
JISO belt
TFS clutch bell
Polini 4race adjustable clutch
16/42 gear up kit

I tore down the AF18 from the Baja, nice clean engine. It's always a pleasure to work on these Honda motors. I heated up the case halves to install the new bearings. The large side came together no problem. The small half was a wild ride, when I tapped in the bearing I heard a POP and this fucking happened.


So now I need another set of AF18 cases. 

Paging all Honda guys, anybody want to sell me a Honda motor?!
