It,s nearly new 725 miles and in pristine condition, picked it up yesterday 10 miles from home and now garaged till Sundays commute, I am new to the 125cc class of scooter but I am impressed , after faffing around for hours it,s taxed insured etc,it,s battleship/pedo grey but its growing on me time will tell. It,s got a few mod cons that I like but the stupidity switch had me stumped for a while. Every scoot needs a name. Apart from the cost of purchase the running costs are similar but the insurance (legal requirement ) is now fully comp £200. Geoff

This may be the dullest build thread ever :)this scoot is eating the commute and it is ever so comfy,I will get to fuel consumption/speed/blah blah when the weather picks up.You may know I took out a "rescue" insurance for the peugeot with Start Rescue which I assumed was now wasted money or at least a charge to swap to this scoot, but hats off to them (thumb)a few clicks and the policy transfers to Hobson no charge just good customer care,I don't,t think I will ever use it but it,s nice to have back up.

Just an update scoots running well and the weather here is much kinder ,I may get a chance to open the throttle soon ,a lack of problems leaves me free to ponder the scoots quality,up to now I have little to gripe about the build quality is very good there,s not a squeak or rattle to be had . I am looking for crash bars to preserve its paintwork, lambretta sell them for £145 a pair, my heart says buy them but my head has some steam punk copper tubing lash up that would work but may get me drummed out the lambo club Geoff

Captain boring here milage now stands at 1185miles, I got a new job last month 1.9 miles from home just one set of lights to contend with if I just use the scoot for the commute a tank of fuel will last a month . Still not opened the throttle yet. Geoff

I had that kind of commute where if you were a minute late you could say the light was red.

Milage at 1313 all good.worth noting that the oil warning light will come on and stay on every 1000 kilometers to remind you to check the oil manually a reset button clears it. Geoff

That's an interesting feature. Would of freaked me out the first time though. Just curious, how much was the first service? Oils, filter and general check over?

Sorry forgot to answer your question Paul, the salesman said £40 for little service and £80 for full Monty,I wasn,t charged for the check over but I never saw them do it,my mates a vehicle tech at a dealership he told me they do "free" winter checks = battery check= lift bonnet see battery = tick ,look outside, winter=tick. Nice surprise my start rescue contract ends on the 1nov it was £30 it will now cost £17.78 which is a good deal,I wonder what will happen to the price if I ever use it reminder* it,s a basic contract to recover my scoot to home with a six mile limit, suits my needs to a t. That's pretty good for a full service if checking valves as well. It's proving to be a very economical purchase. 👍

Yes it,s very good on fuel and come Feb I have a decision to make, the warranty has lot,s of get out clauses in it but I will have to have it serviced earlier than it hits the service schedule milage,so I think I will just take the gamble and service it myself,it has not missed a beat yet and the only gripe I have is the instrument cluster steams up a tad and (drum roll here) the lambretta cotton seat tag is faded.
Geoff milage @1885 today

Milage @ 1970 today ,missed my birth date somehow but the millennium is fast approaching I purchased this bib & brace set from screwfix £30 I have worn them 4 times in the rain they do the job, totally waterproof ,no soggy crotch, they hang over my boots so dry socks a bonus well worth the ££,no lining though so still a bit nippy. Much merriment was made on Thursday evening when my phone ran out of charge and unable to operate the security gate at work leaving me locked in,this won,t happen again Annoyingly I already own the lead and battery pack, just to dumb to put them in the scooter.luckily the lads gather for after work drinks in a pub a short walk away and were able to release me.
