Milage @ 1970 today ,missed my birth date somehow but the millennium is fast approaching I purchased this bib & brace set from screwfix £30 I have worn them 4 times in the rain they do the job, totally waterproof ,no soggy crotch, they hang over my boots so dry socks a bonus well worth the ££,no lining though so still a bit nippy. Geoff Dry balls is for sure worth 30 quid.

Winter has arrived with teeth barred,my lock froze up this morning and again this evening I have squirted WD40 in there and wrapped the scoot up time will tell. Geoff

WD40 is quite a thin oil. If it doesn't work try something thicker.

Is it part metal, part plastics with the scooter panels Geoff?

yes Milly the front is plastic the tub and side panels are steel. After two very careful fill ups I have got the fuel consumption at 82 mpg the cold weather has gone for now so the frozen lock has solved itself, still not much to report scooter wise but Santa brought a two piece fishing suit a bib and brace/jacket with fleece lining , it,s super warm and dry but a cumbersum thing to change into but worth the effort and Β£140 well spent in my opinion. I keep seeing quite a few Royal Alloy scooters here now Geoff. Is it the same model, just rebranded. They look identical.

After some rooting, here's what I think underneath the lambetta panels and umpteen badges its a Sym built scooter the VIN number says its built in Austria!!!. I can see your point with the Royal Alloy after all they are meant to be retro style.

Poor Hobson is filthy at the moment, some motorway construction/upgrade is happening and the unwanted material in travelling on my route to work buts it,s finishing soon enough. We are a year in to ownership so tax and insurance have been renewed, road tax Β£22 insurance Β£79.50 amazingly my insurance has halved,I have checked the details and I seem to enjoy the same benefits as the last policy . But I did read some of the small print and if it gets stolen from my yard and not from inside the locked garage I won,t get paid so I have beefed up gate security a tad and resolved not to leave it on the drive. So a little list of gripes Seat tag faded Rear shocker has some rust on the chrome Instrument cluster has condensation in it Some people have complained that my headlight is to bright It,s going in for a service in march let's see what the dealer says Geoff

Dealership πΆπΆ what is that ?? π³
Never been to a Dealership with a scooter before, you are lucky and have actual support.
Always been jealous of the European with the support and how accepted the scooter is. Here you buy it and you have to figure it out on your own.

Well shocking I havegot water in my oil!! My routine check showed the oil had turned milky brown
With the oil drained I am left to ponder what happens,my best guess is that I left the dipstick lose and water got sprayed in there when I washed the scoot last weekend??. I got 850ml of liquid out the engine the manual says it holds 700ml,that's a lot of water to accidentally get in there so the plan is to buy some engine flush run it through and then refill with good oil.I will have to catch the bus for work in the morning and shop for oil in the day. If you have water in there I would change the filter too if it has one. That is definitely not a normal colour.
