OUCH. Feels like somebody hit the top of my nose with a cross pein and then clamped some vice grips on and left 'em there.
Laying in hospital. They're keeping me over night because I usually use a smoother proofer (CPAP) and want to make sure I won't choke out without it.
Pretty limited in what I can do for the next week, they say.
What have others experienced?

That sounds less than fun. Hope they sort it out for you quickly!

Thankfully, I have not gone through that. I hope you're feeling better very soon.

pain really tapered off after 48 hours. but having been under general anesthesia, I'm still kind of iffy feeling. sleeping is a nightmare, I can only mouth breathe and I always have bad apnic events when that is the case. Hence surgery, lol.
The whole thing is rough, but I think it will be worth it in the long run. splints come out Monday, and that's supposed to provide a lot of relief.
I'm going to make kind of a blurred out pic and post it 😅
ETA: I better not, some people have a big aversion to the sight of blood so best to withhold. Also, god dang, general anesthesia really gets you for a while.

Fighters get surgery to repair their noses pretty commonly. I heard Jake Shields talking to Joe Rogan recently about only being able to breathe out of his mouth and Rogan said the surgery was life changing and so worth it. I think he said about 6 weeks total recovery for him.
