Starting this Thread on the advice of Zino! 1989 Yamaha Razz Scooter that I pick up around at a garage sale. Story is it was the ladies husbands and he loved it but he passed away around 2016 and its been sitting. Would not run when throttle is applied so as all the info and pictures in this post 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/30185/another-1989-yamma-razz-problem go we are gonna try our best to get this thing back in scooting shape. It's the first Carb scooter I've owned so everything is kind new and I'm clueless on a lot but willing to learn. Current Problem needing addressed: Air intake is way to open. I have the box but no foam to go in it and not sure if that will work as Zino pointed out that's a bigger carb than stock so might have to find something else for now for air flow restriction Auto choke mechanism is not wired in and I have no idea where it would be wired in at so I need help there. Its not a connector style plug its two open ends that have a small metal shim like they just get shoved up in to something already wired.

That seems to be where the oil comes in to mix, ran out to get another spark plug for it so I'll trace it here in a few minutes to confirm

Good oil is hooked up . Unscrew that bigger jet that is the one that would tell us what carb jet it needs .
It also will give us a reference point of what jet you are at so we can go up or down from there .

Work had me busy sorry for not replying forever, we actually had it running with restricting the air flow that went in to the carb, and we could get it to 20mph but it was running rough and we kept having to mess with the idle set screw though out the 40 mins we had it going. It's since gone back to the original problem.
None of the jets are numbered so don't know the size of any.

It's a TK (or Teikei in full) carb. It's a common carb on 90's Yamaha's. My Axis has one too, a 14mm. They also take dellorto 6mm jets.
On a stock Razz i'd start with a size 60. Just order the 6mm dellorto ones since I assume Teikei jets are gonna be harder to find. You can try starting it while holding your hand over the carb. That way you choke it from air, basically creating a rich condition just like the auto enricher does.
When it fires up and it idles, you can slowly remove your hand.

Yes the jet looks good but consider buying a kit like this I am UK based so no reasonable link but it will help to fine tune your scoot Geoff
