Hey yall this is my first post on this EXTREMELY helpful forum. Ive been an unregistered lurker for many months now as my day to day job involves fixing QMB139 engines. A few months ago i came across a bike that was in bad condition. Driven about 10.000km. I took it all apart and decided to lengthen the frame by about 30cm. I have zero experience in motorcycle frame building but i figured Hey lets give it a shot. Ive already ordered all the parts i need/think i need. It turns out that i got "lucky" and found out that instead of being a 50cc kit as i suspected. It was a much meatier 80cc/50mm kit. No doubt the engine will crap out on me at some point but that is the easy part of the build to fix. I will not be using any of the original plastic that covers up the original bike, instead i plan on doing some sheet metal work in small amounts around the bike. Since i posting this thread here the progress ive made so far has taken about 3 months. Mind you i mostly work on the thing in my off time at work, during breaks and my lunch hour. But with some steady progress i think it will be ready sometime next year. Im not really rushing this after all haha. All i kinda need when it comes to extra parts now is a nice clean and cheap Chinese gauge cluster. Enjoy the pics!
EDIT [Update 22/11/22]
Ive started work on it again after a few months pause (it gets busy at work during the summer) so now we have moved on to frame prepping and paint! Im still waiting on a new headlight that i orderd a few weeks ago but that should arrive probably before the end of the year. After that its just a matter of wiring and a million final touches
EDIT [Update 26/11/22] Lots of things happening in a very short amount of time, after painting i started to assemble and affix all the extra bits that ruin the look of the frame . We are now onto fitting the electrical system, plumbing the fuel and connecting the lights i bought!
[Update 17/12/22]
THE PROJECT IS "COMPLETE" ive still got a few minor things to work out but overall the bike runs and drives!!!

Oh its perfectly sidewalk legal actually. I've kept both VIN numbers in tact and will be putting all legal lightning on it

Bump for update! And i would like to ask if anyone is familiar with how much pressure the oil pump in these engines can put out?

Does it actually have an oil pump or is it just a splasher finger like an old Briggs & Stratton?

Yes,it has an oil pump, but only makes a few PSI to keep some lube here and there..The OLD Honda motorcycles had this too,,I feel these engines would last much longer if a larger pump could be added to create more oil flow..

Is the reduction in overall flow worth the cooler oil though? If the pump is minimal perhaps a very high quality oil would offset the need.

I am running very expensive oil as we speak on all of my bikes. However this being an 80cc kit that i got with the bike i purchased i would rather be safe than sorry i suppose? The bottom end hasn't been modified in any way to take on the extra weight of the new piston. So i figured some extra cooling (and more oil) would help with that extra load in the form of cooling.

For a stretch build that does away with the original seat configuration, I’m realizing that the way you did it… stretching the frame… is a better way to go than the route I took of stretching the motor mount. I’m finding myself addressing issues that would have been avoided by a frame stretch.

but i got very lucky, all the cables, wires and hoses just needed to be re-routed slightly in order for everything to come together nicely.
