Got my exhaust in. Every time I see a Leo pipe the craftsmanship always amazes me. Sadly Fedex just showed up so I won't be able to install and tune till tomorrow. Got work in a few hours I'm going back to stock 49cc and will be doing some slight porting while I'm messing with it. As much as I love my stage 6 kit I can't afford to be driving around like that. Being I can't afford to be pulled over and have my scoot impounded. Plan on getting my moto license in the spring so when that time comes I'll go back to that kit. But I've got the jets I need so I'm good to go I think. Thanks again Enviromoto. Leo Vince ZX-R

Nice pipe!
Anything special you are going to do so that the finish doesn't rust? My brother has one (TT) and it rusted pretty bad on the surface. I understand you can spray it with WD-40 after a ride to help protect and "season" it.
Just curious.

Not sure yet. My old eton had a zx on it and I remember painting it with hi temp black rattle can paint. Will end up doing the same with this most likely. With winter coming hate to but rust is a gremlin I would like to stay away.

I have had to paint my pipe due to surface rust on chrome.
Personally I like the look of the raw metal exposing the welds, if I had a new pipe like that I would coat it after runs. Just curious if WD-40 would work or if there are other tricks to keep the look while protecting the surface from the elements at the same time.
Either way nice pipe.

These pipes are good work well with the standard cylinder but not bad with a bbk as well. You have two choices paint it or rub wd40 over it after every ride i like the bare metal look but got fed up after a couple of months of spraying my yasuni and painted it black. Now i always buy chromed pipes.

Anyone ever powder coated a pipe? Got a buddy who owns a shop that might be able to help me out with a favor. Just thinking what my options might really be. I'm gonna keep it raw metal as long as I can with the WD-40 trick. Cause I love that look.

I had a Leo V-TT for a 2008 Zuma for a few days and didn't/couldn't do the fab work on the rear bracket to get it to fit solidly. If your ZX did bolt right up, is there even a slim chance you might remember the part # ?? Oh yeah . . . Nice pipe ! Please post your opinion of it when you get rolling ! Yeah sorry I don't remember the # on it. I bought it local from someone who had bought it for a vertical Zuma. So I'm not to sure. I did have to extend one of the bracket arms though and my eton beamer didn't have a center stand. Had the ghetto lean to it haha.
I think I'm going to powder coat it though. Maybe not right away but will because I know I will get fed up with rubbing it down everyday. Gonna get some shut eye and give a buddy a call since I can't seem to find my impact gun. Got rain coming in the next couple days and I want to get swapped over to the stock piston and get everything in tune.

I use the high temp clear coat about once a season on mine and it does a good job. Powedercoat seems to get chalky / flat looking once its had some heat on it, looks ok, but after awhile it needs touched up.

Well the pipe is on. Running a 82 main 84 was way to rich. Running my stage 6 vari with 5g sliders. But I couldn't get the nut off the clutch to change my springs over. Just didn't have the right tools sitting around. I'm gonna give a local shop a call and see if they'll do it for a decent price.
Broke my finger today though. It had nothing to do with scooters. I got into a fight with a case of bake beans, about a 40lbs case. The plastic wrap broke loose when I picked it up at work and my finger happen to be underneath haha. It didn't stop me from putting that pipe on though! Just gotta throw the panels back on in the morning.

Have you seen the tire trick for pressing down on the clutch to get that nut off? A car tire rim has the right size hole to fit around that clutch nut, I used a rim with a tire on it, extra weight.
