Hey everyone, Encountered a new issue today on my am6 50cc tzr, first test run. The actuator keeps popping up rendering the clutch useless. The clutch also only engages just as you pull it or let it go completely with very little power in 1st and 2nd and almost dies in 3rd. Cable is set to zero so minimal tension. I didn't adjust anything under the engine cover.

There should be a little free play in the clutch cable. On the RS50 there is a screw in the arm to keep it in place. Is yours the same?

Hi there,
Couldn't see a screw or even a missing screw anywhere, with cable disconnected I can lift the actuator out.
While cable is connected and the actuator spring is under tension, if I pull the clutch lever a few times you can see it working it's way up.
I have ordered a new spring in case it's worn as it seems all that keeps it down is the spring.
Parts diagram doesn't show a screw either.

There is also a seal that goes on there. That might not be helping if it's worn.

👍 you make a good point, it looked OK but I'll replace it while I'm at it.

That looks to be a fairly strong spring and a pretty basic mechanical assembly. Can you remove the arm again and take photos of the top and sides of arm and shaft?
Maybe some sort of keyway with a retaining clip at the top? Hole through arm and shaft for bolt or roll pin? Could the arm have been welded, pressed or peened onto the shaft?

Thanks Snaker and 190Mech, thats it exactly, press spline, no space for circlips etc. does this mean its supposed to just push in / pull out? i will replace the seal and spring and revert

It could be the cam plate on the arm is worn or twisted causing it to walk out..Would be worth a close look when removed for the spring and seal change...

Getting a little confused on the issue
Are you saying that the arm is loose on the shaft? Or are you saying that the shaft is sliding in and out of the case?
Also, if/might not pertain,,, The first photo, at bottom center, There is a open threaded hole. That wouldn't by chance go right up along side of the shaft?

Hi Snaker,
The whole shaft moves up out of the engine case. When spring is in place and while pulling the clutch. With spring disengaged I can turn and remove it from the engine casing with little forced.
The thread hole you see in the pic is where the sprocket cover attaches. Has nothing to do with the actuator as it popped up the first time while the cover was screwed in.
Thanks,

I think a new seal and spring will sort it. 🙈

Hi everyone,
Ok, new spring and seal installed and it's still walking upwards with every pull of the clutch.
Should I be draining oil and checking under clutch cover?
