So I have a bugeye zuma with no engine, but I also so happen to have a brand new gy6 from a wrecked taotao. I pulled the engine and harness but I havnt found much info at all about if anyone has done this swap. I don't think itll be too hard, may take a little custom fab work but thats easy. I'm just curious if anyone else has done it and have any tips for me getting ready to take this build on.

The work to make it bolt in probably won't be too difficult. Case mounting locations should be somewhat similar. If you've got the harness from the GY6 TaoTao, then you should basically be able to modify it to reach mounting locations and accessories for the most part.
If you're just looking for cheap but willing to do the labor and track down potential headaches, the GY6 may be the way to go. The replacement engine is probably much easier. Two-strokes are way cooler. It's a proven fact. 😁

The hardest part will be the harness but I already have most of that labeled and ready to go into whatever I want to put this into. The main reason I was thinking about doing this is the taotao I have would need a hole front end and I got it for $300 and I just have the zuma frame without an engine laying there. (Buddy toke the blown engine) it would be cheaper and the labor dosnt bother me, you are correct that 2 strokes are more fun but itll be more then double the money to get a 2smoke engine and repair the front end on the taotao if I deced to do that. I'm kind of unsure what I want to do at the moment. But it would be cool to have a good "mostly stock" zuma and a gy6 swapped zuma.

Just because the Mina that came out of it is pretty legendary, and the go-fast parts are easy to find. A 70cc BBK with a good pipe on a 2-stroke is a lot of fun! FWIW, I’m not anti-GY6. There are loads of great examples on bikes like Kymco, SYM, and Genuine (although theirs is a crazy mashup - love that engine). As was said above, if you’re willing to do a bit of fab, it’ll work. And I’m always happy to see folks dive into customizing their rides!
