Definitely keep it going, I would strip it down and get rid of the rust and repaint frame, you have gone this far with it you may as well go all the way

Yes I think a full strip down and hammerite or some such thing on the frame is worthwhile doing. So long term project here and overtime may find a decent front panel cheap and not silly money.

Today I managed to attach the new oil feed pipe from carb to pump after moving the heat shield then removed Speedo casing screws to get at throttle and release it so I could disengage the old cable ready to replace it. Spent the next half hour wondering where I put the new cable in a tiny shed but found it was exhausted by then and went to bed for a hour or two, to wake up thinking bungalow is hot but been informed it's me and not the bungalow. Hopefully ok for work in the morning.

Done a bit more today but not a lot was sweating profusely after running the new throttle cable through. A faff and a half to run that through.

One of the tools I use in the shop for manhandling heavy parts is a hand winch secured above to a 4x4 laying across several ceiling joists and a bit if chain and lots of bolts and washers. I have a couple setups in the garage and 3 more in the carport. It makes dismantling and assembling easier. Hand winches are not supposed to be used for overhead lifting so I make sure I don't get any body parts under things. I have never had one fail yet. I do buy good brand name high quality units, not cheap ones. I also use a good quality chain hoist. They must be used with care though. I supplement them with jack-stands, wood timber cribbing and lots of chain and fittings. Never use cinder blocks, they crack and shatter. I also have jacks, engine hoists, and other lifts. Nothing as nice as your auto shop lifts.

Today I moved it back to the garage so I can do it with the use of the ramp.
