Today managed to get some of the broken panels sorted. Just about to give up after a couple of hours and thought try the jump pack see if it's got working electrics which it had. I had already put petrol in tank earlier so found some carb cleaner for the initial fire up till carb full and viola! It runs.

When installing exhaust system parts use stainless steel studs that are available at good hardware stores and sometimes at auto supply stores. Use SS washers if needed and brass hex nuts on the studs for a good fastening system. I also go as far as using anti-seize on everything. Fasteners there get mighty hot which causes them to rust rapidly. Aluminum corrodes the hell out of steel fasteners.

The candle trick has not failed me yet on stuff like that.
You need to move far inland away from that sea salt crap. Maybe leave that island to the birds.
To steal a line from that old M.A.S.H. movie: Damn sea salt, Damn Aluminuminuminum, Damn Army...

Well retaining bolt out that holds the pin plate on. Plate bit of a faff to remove but done. Pins hit with a copper hammer and moving. Just letting them soak overnight and remove tomorrow.

What is the matter? Are your eyes getting OLD like mine? There never is enough light to see well, even in daylight.
A good new caliper may be required. Usually rebuilding old ones especially made of Auminuminium are an exercise in futility. That banjo connection and bleeder are shot.

Eyes are not as good as they were and hopefully I have no reason to remove bleed screw and banjo bolt. Good old Auminuminium 🤪

milly -You actually gave money for a non-runner? You must be losing your touch or your mind, probably both.
Somebody over there go find him and keep him from running around naked in the street.
