hi. welcome to this amazing forum. check on the variator like most scooter. its not a restriction but rather an adjustement ( either lose top speed to get more acceleration, or lose acceleration to get more top speed ). duno why people call that a restriction. if there is no ""restrictor"" there, you're fucked up. there is some unrestricted cdi for carbureted scooter, but i dont see the use... an engine is made to get max power at x rpm and the power drop drasticly after that. stock restricted cdi are over that range already. so i dont see the use of a cdi that allow higher rpm. gimmick i guess. or screamer build isntead of power.
usual EFI peice of shit. unexplainable cost of repair, and absolutly nothing to do performance wide. and time to get those electronic parts........
i dont hate electronic fuel injection. not at all. i hate stock electronic fuel injection. fuel injection is extremly reliable, its the "electronic" part of it that isnt. i mean the controller.
as with ALL engine on this planet, be it prius or hellcat engine, they're running lean for fuel economy in relation to power. so adding more fuel always give gains. ALLWAYS no matter what people says. that also apply to scooter. but EFI scooter are so hated, no information to be found as to what injector they use. so even this upgrade, forget it. they're ok'ish ( nothing mroe ) stock, but for people that want more from it ( be it for SAFETY or only fun ), they're the worst nightmare you can have.
what you can try is to put a better air filter on it or completly remove your and see if it still run fine. if so, then MAYBE there is some extremly small gains to get.
if it was ME, i would either sell that thing or carburetor-swap it. no way ill drive anything that cannot be improved. never. thats just ME tho. maybe id handle one if its only for one ride in a month or so, but thats about it.
