I'm going with a rebuild option.
New crank seals New bore, piston, head, plug New exhaust New carb
And pray for the best

So started the strip down. Found the culprit, or certainly something that wouldn't help. The stator side crank seal had blown, literally fell out when I touched it and oil in this dry area.
So all being well I'll do both seals tomorrow and put a new barrel, piston and head on for good measure.
Fingers crossed 🤞

New build is done and no oil leaks or anything. It starts well and I'm definitely getting happier
So I am bearing in mind she needs a run in but she's slow off the mark, picks up ok as the revs pick up a bit but then slows up again. Definitely slower than before, but with a lot of miles left to run in I'm thinking I maybe a jet or something out.
I will let her cool and check the plug colour and go from there

Now have a 72 jet which seems good when riding....
Issues
No power pulling away up to 10mph then you hear the revs pick up and it goes ok.
Minimal power on any type of incline
Any ideas

Rollers too heavy? Need stiffer clutch springs, or contra. When you pull away. The bike should rev up and stay at a constant revs. Does it?

Once it's revving it seems fine on the flat, just struggles to get the revs going off the line.

I'm running 6g rollers.
Will look at the clutch springs, but it pulled well previously. I feel I've missed something 😆

Definitely an improvement with the standard derestricted exhaust. Although it vibrated itself loose within a few miles lol

If it's running better on the standard exhaust then something is not set up correctly. What exhaust was it you have?

It's a derestricted standard exhaust. I bought a newer version. After a longer ride they both do the same off the mark.
It's almost scoot along until you get 10mph then it picks up

Sounds like the revs are too low. If you install stiffer clutch springs. It should take off in the power band. Are they the standard weight rollers too?

You seem to have nailed it, I have changed the clutch springs. Says they come in 1500 to 2000 rpm but seems spot on now. Sacrificed a little top end but that may come back as everything loosens up.
Finally she seems sorted lol 😆🥳

Good it's working again. Clutch springs lose their strength over time. Clutch springs shouldn't reduce top speed. Perhaps your drive belt is worn. This can lose you a few miles an hour.
