Hi fellow scoots.
I have a scooter that isn't starting, and I'm suspecting the problem is not enough compression. It made certain noises, then I adjusted the carburetor to a richer mix and it stopped making the noises, then I adjusted it the other way and it stopped just as I was parking it after a short but intense trip. I haven't gotten a gauge yet, but once that is confirmed, I'll try to replace the piston (with new rings) and the head gaskets.
I had gaskets lying around, and the 2T piston was a cheap option, ordered from China so I'll try that first, and if that doesn't work, replace the cylinder and piston with a complete set.
This is a scooter with plastic, so I was wondering if there are tips to the process that will make it possible to replace everything while the motor is still mounted to the frame, and also other generic tips on how to make the result as good as possible.
Regards,
Morten
