Yea dude. If I remember right, the center stand comes off with just a pin pull. Thats all it's held on with. Might as well take it off so they can weld it the right way

Yeah, you pull a pin and remove the springs. You might have to wrestle the springs a little to get it back on, but it isn't that bad.

Yeah, that's what concerned me was the springs. I've heard they are a real pain to get on there but if you say they aren't that bad then I should be able to handle it no problem. I guess I'll check into getting it extended because the stock shock is pretty mushy and I'm 220lbs give or take so I would like the scoot to sit up a bit higher before I plop my fat butt on it. ;D A yellow shock wouldn't look bad on there either. There may be clearance issues. I'll have to go out and inspect it closely before I dive into it. On another subject: Has anyone ever painted rims and if so how'd you go about it? Prep? Powder coat? I'm thinking I want to paint them black with a yellow band around the outside of the lip. Thanks!

When you re-install the stand, I found it easiest to put the pin partially through. Then get the spring(s) on and tap the pin the rest of the way through while pulling on the stand to get it lined up.
I painted the wheels on one of my Tritons and on my Sunl. I cleaned the wheels really well with brake cleaner, then used Scotchbrite prep pads to lightly scuff them, then rinsed them with water and allowed them to dry. I used brake caliper paint on the Triton's wheels and regular black spray paint for the Sunl. Both turned out about the same. The paint does chip off the outer rim when you're rough on it, like changing tires. If you keep it a single color it's easy to touch up though. Powder coating would be ideal, but I don't have a spare oven or the powder coat equipment and didn't wanna pay something like $100 IIRC.

Thanks for the installation tip on the center stand. I think I'm going to just leave it the way it is for a while since I jacked up my bad knee again riding my Goped. Friggin Goped! I'm trying to sell the darn thing and gave it a little run today to show a potential buyer. It has no pull starter on it so you sorta run and jump on it to start it up and I guess my knee wasn't up to the task. I'll probably be out of commission for at least a week. I can barely walk right now. My advice is don't get old!

I finally gave the new 2T a good workout yesterday and I have to say I was worried a little bit taking a long trip on it but my fears were allayed when I got 15 miles from home and it was running like it did the moment I drove away from my house. I still haven't registered it so I switched the plate from my 4T to it and took off... I must have ridden 50 miles and it never missed a beat. I'm in love with it! I'm gonna sell my 4T because it's now obsolete. ;D I kinda wish I hadn't sold the red one now so I could have twins.

Glad it's working out for you. 2Ts get a bum rap for reliability sometimes, but they can be great scoots. I put 1600 miles on mine in one month last year, so they must not be all that bad. Gas mileage can't compete with the 4Ts most of the time... but they're just so much fun.
