One wire to remove and old loom off. New loom in place bit of finishing off to do. Air filter needs front mudguard removed to remove it so carb can be cleaned and a couple of spade terminals for the starter lead.

Nice work, Make sure you crimp new terminals to last with silicone and proper crimper tool. Factory crimped terminals are difficult, about all you can do in coat them with silicone grease to try to keep moisture out. Once corrosion starts that damn oxygen gets in...
Do you ever wash stuff -before- you start working on it? It makes stuff easier to work on after it dries. I have found those leaf blower things do great for getting rid of the water afterward. Then just let stuff air dry, -get a beverage or two or three (non-alcoholic) down at a local before working. Alcohol never improves workmanship but conversations with friends can help attitudes.
Looks like there is still much 'reliability' type work to do replacing rubber lines, seals, filters, etc. The type of stuff that can interfere with pleasant rides out in the fresh air.

Seems strange to be growing any green plant type stuff in the dark but may just be green brass corrosion and bacteria.

If you get some of that Boeshield T-9 from Amazon or Boeshield.com it will help protect both steel and aluminum from corrosion. It is great for bicycle and motorcycle chains also. It is another thing for your chemical mechanic's toolbox. Unfortunately I do not know if it is available in the UK.
I am also very diligent about using anti-seize on steel fasteners going into aluminuminium. It is available as a brush-on paste and also as a wax type crayon that is real handy for the toolbox.
