Well all back together and running but I did notice someone had installed a throttle cable for a nasty 2 stroke on it. I am going to check the state of spares and if getting scarce it can go rather than being lumbered with a garden ornament in the future.

That is always the problem with bikes that are not big sellers. Can you get parts?

An aftermarket parts seller usually wants a wide distribution to make it worth R&D time and expense. Even some limited production run from an OEM does not get any real spare parts production. We see this in all vehicles, machines, tools, etc, -absolutely everything. When it comes to parts it is bodge city for Frankenmachines in a Mad Max Thunderdome world.

Don't see me chiseling out a new barrel and piston so for a easier life it can go. At least the Gremlin scooter has very generic GY6 parts which also don't cost silly money.

That is where Frankenstein parts come in. Saw off the barrel from your lawnmower with hacksaw, and seal it to the case with aluminiumunum foil combined with duct tape and drill the piston if required with hand drill, slick the pin with silicone dielectric, then pack the piston pin with JBWeld bushing compound to fit, only slight chiseling required. Oil soaked OSB cams operate valves, Lag screws, T-nuts, all-thread, and angle iron hold it together. -Done! LOL You can do it! Gremlins like to help with such machines now that your garage and house are infested with them like cooties.

On about hard to find parts. A guy in a motorcycle forum I'm on wanted front and back master cylinders, for a 2017 Lexmoto. Apparently the dealer said they have been discontinued! I had a look. And it looks like it's true. When you can't get parts for a seven year old Chinese bike. What's the point of buying them?

Silly people, you are supposed to get rid of your old vehicles when they are 2-5 years old and buy new ones.

I will have you know. That's where Milly buys his pristine condition. One old lady owner, who never took the bike out in the wet bargains from.

Facebook still sucks. I picked up a lawn mower on there in similar one-owner, surplus to needs, nothing wrong with it, never used, condition then had to totally fix and repair the POS. I did get propositioned by a young, very nice & clean looking, professional lady when I picked it up which wasn't too bad of a morale booster for a 70 year old, twin brother to milly .
Facebook luck seems like the buyer for the motorcycle was probably arriving on that train Milly crashed.

It's gone, poor fella had only ridden 50cc twist and go before. Still he had his brother in the car with him.

Did he pop a wheelie for 250' like I did the first time I rode a motorcycle? It took me a bit and the impending crash into a couple gas pumps to figure out how to set the front wheel down.

I may have spoken to soon his brother noticed a smell of gas and I'm sure I found what I would describe as a vapour leak at the rear seam of the tank. I may have even posted about it and my old brain forgot about it. He really likes it still and is going to see what his brother says who is a mechanic. I have offered him his money back if he wants to do that though as my fault and I did put in the advert no hidden nasties so we will see later.
