Well giving up smoking certainly makes me do more and I was only smoking tobacco, I could understand if it was Cheech & Chong flavour why I did less whilst smoking. Today after tidying up the garage yesterday I started removing the forks as the new second hand pair arrives next week. Whilst there I inspected the wiring loom and found bodgery even I wouldn't be happy with as hopefully this is my long term retirement bike ( fingers crossed) and a offer of a good loom come up on eBay for £31.50 delivery free. So both bits arrive on my birthday Wednesday not that I shall be doing it then. Next up will be putting the Kickstarter and wiring loom on the Peugeot Pox at some point now I can work around things but not rushing.

It could have been worse, the connections could be wires twisted together and covered with 'scotch transparent tape' as it is called over here or even 'duct tape'... I have seen both hundreds of times on vehicles and mains wiring in houses or businesses. When seen in houses etc it makes you want to up tools and exit the premises as rapidly as you can realizing what that faint smell is. It is even worse when connections anywhere are covered with crumbling burned carbon. A house across the street from where I once lived had old 'knob and tube' wiring with twisted cross connections made with clothes hanger wire and zip-cord with uncovered connections...

Never heard of knob and tube wiring before, looked it up and see it was for light loading of power not so much for today's power usage. Did see a post about someone wanting to fit a 3 pin plug socket and earth stake to charge their electric car off knob and tube wiring.

Charging an EV off Knob & Tube wouldn't work worth beans. It was mainly for a single light bulb and a radio or fan.
The old house across the street ran most of the lights and outlets off a single circuit with a 10A fuse. They kept blowing the fuse and replaced it with 15A then a 20A then they tried the 'penny behind the fuse', -some crumpled wire, which blew the entire circuit. I checked it out for them and saw the totally screwed wiring and told them to call an electrician and have new wiring installed. They ran off an extension cord that someone else tagged into the fuse box for a while before termites finally made the place uninhabitable. They spent most of their money on booze.

And this evening I unboxed my forks for fitting tomorrow and the top yoke is damn missing. Asked eBay geezer to send one out if they have one but he said return it for refund which is blooming pointless as my forks are shot 😱

Looking at the pictures of the fork's I purchased and the ones sent are the ones being offered cheaper by same seller so back they go.

Sounds like the seller sent the wrong ones. Is return shipping on you or the seller?

If it's his mistake. He should pay for return shipping.

Today's joy of joys after school this afternoon was putting the old forks back in fitting new brake pads and awaiting for eBay to get the returns label sorted for forks. Still it's slowly coming along. Then off to bed for an old man doze.

Why did you put the old forks back in?
Too much work.
I would have just dropped the bike on a wheeled dolly or jack and left it until the new forks arrived.
It seems strange that the seller would want the forks shipped back instead of just shipping the missing part? Is there something I am not seeing or some sort of scam?

I don't understand them not shipping it either FrankenMech but got my return label and don't have to pay postage so full refund and with it together can now be used by me or either boys. New bearings put in as noticed different sizes together in each race and very tight steering when using it. It's coming together though, broke the back of it this afternoon just the easier bits now to assemble (he says with fingers crossed)🫣

Like I said before, bearings must be a matched set from the manufacturer.
The most difficult part is always the last.
