Need more power to get my 80cc starting with the estart . Will be upgrading the battery, but I'm no electrician. Thoughts on what kind of supplies u should be gathering?

Thanks for your help. So I should replace the power and ground cables from the battery to the relay and from the relay to the starter? Correct?

from battery + to relay..and relay to starter is all hot (battery +). I would very carefully inspect those. there is usually a big green from one if the starter bolts to battery neg. Sometimes it goes from starter bolt to frame then to battery neg thats how the frame and engine is grounded. Sometimes there is a plug from the relay to the starter wire and most times the ground cable goes through this plug too. I always eliminate this plug because voltage drop can occur there and also bad ground can occur there.
Any corrosion seen anywhere replace the whole cable because what happens is it starts at the terminal and goes down into the cable where you cannot see or clean it. If they are small wires replace them anyway with bigger ones. (in wiring the smaller the gauge number the bigger the wire IE 10ga is bigger than 12ga, 8ga is bigger than 10ga etc...) Lowes has good ones in the lawn tractor section that have ring terminals on them already. I suggest getting them already made like that because crimping terminals can be tricky and require the right tools.

also you dont want the hot wire to be real long. the longer the wire the more resistance you have thus more voltage drop. make sure the wire from the relay is long enough so that it doesnt pull loose from the starter when the suspension moves up and down. The bigger the wire though the less important length becomes.

Thanks dude. I ordered the 137 cca battery and some 4guage wire. Figure ill mount the battery under the seat. And just to be clear. I only have to upgrade the wiring from the terminals to the relay/starter.

I only have to upgrade the wiring from the terminals to the relay/starter. check on the condition of your fuse and fuse holder while you are in there but yeah the hot wire from the battery to the relay and from there to the starter is the main thing. and the engine ground wire from the starter bolt to frame/battery neg should be checked.

just a thought..... i take it this is a 4 stroke scooter??? are you using the original 50cc (40mm) cylinder head? just thinking the problem with turning over may be because the compression is now too high... may be worth considering reworking the cylinder head bowl a bit. also seen a lot lately with bent valves.... possibly because of the same thing... on my baotian with the bbk, i use a 14ah honda vtr1000 battery lol - no issues turning it over
