We have a member here with a 52.4x44 qmb stroker engine. He has not posted here in awhile but I saw a post he made elsewhere and he is now using a whopping 235cca battery because that big motor was impossible to crank over. If you are planning a qmb bbk add a battery of at least 90cca to your list

Ok guys added the new battery, and finally got the engine together... when im trying to crank the engine over the ground coming off the resinator (green wire) is burning up... is it possible that im trying to put a DC engine on an AC setup?! or is this over sized battery causing this problem... it sounds like the engine is trying to start.
Any ideas what could be doing this?!
I did not upgrade any of the ground wires when i added the new battery.

sorry yea lol Stator... havnt been doing alot of scooter stuff this winter - i dont think any wires are crossed... i had previously had this scooter running with a diff engine and battery... all i did was upgrade the wires from the battery to the relay and from the relay to the starter.... did i miss a step?!

yep i was pretty floored by it also, thats why im wondering if maybe its one of those rare DC ones.... i just dont know what else could be causing that.
No other wires are having this issue... atleast that i can see or smell.
