Has anybody done any business with USAWholesalescooters? I've been looking online to see if there were any disaster stories and sure enough that's pretty much all I saw. I also checked a few other motorcycle shops and the results were all the same. People venting about the bad buys they made and the shoddy service they got as a result. As is the case with many things, a lot of people vent when things go bad, but don't say a word when everything goes smoothly. I'd like to hear if anybody has anything to say about these ladies or any other shops in the Fort Lauderdale area. I'm planning on getting one of these and USAWholesalescooters has them at a fair enough price and are gonna fit a 100cc kit as part of the deal.

I've never sent them an email but I've spoken to two ladies there. I get an answer on the phone every time. Their Craigslist pages say they are updating their website (that's been the case for quite a while so I'm not sure why the update hasn't been done yet). Interesting in any event. Lemme hear if anybody else has any issues.

Sorry, no personal experience. I know it's not really what you want, but here's more stuff just in case you haven't seen it. Detailed review from an unhappy customer... www.complaint.tv/usa_wholesale_scooters_shoddy_scooter_distributer-2127.htmlHere's one found on YellowPages. Sounds more like someone's not happy with a Chinese scoot rather than something the dealer did... "Horrible Quality Provided by YP.com Posted by hagene_d on 08/25/2010 The scooter I bought from them was brand new. I have had it for about 7 months and it is falling to pieces literally. Engine mount became detached (costs $$), there is an extreme oil leak in the engine (costs more $$), horn stopped working which is an easy fix but you get my point, it shakes when I am stopped, and the outer body seems to be coming detached from the frame!! Do not buy here. Learn about the dealer you buy from and don't always look for the cheapest." BBB rates them a D-, but I don't see any details of the reviews.... www.bbb.org/south-east-florida/business-reviews/motor-scooters-dealers/usa-wholesale-scooters-in-oakland-park-fl-11008125Here's a review found on Citysearch.... "I hope you try a different seller / shop by Poppa at Citysearch They aren't on Sunrise now, they're on their 3rd address on N. Dixie Hwy. We bought a new scooter and it took 6 weeks to get a plate, and a year to get the title. They may have used the title to borrow against ? Can't be sure. The bike needed service - one brake's wiring had been disconnected in a fall. Joe said it was fixed, but when it didn't work, he said, you only need one brake anyway. There was much more ,,, BUT. .. I'd suggest there are better places to shop." Tried searching on other forums too and I saw mention of the place, pointing out things there, but no reviews.

Thanks Vert. I found those exact reviews. A neighbour of mine (yes, here in Jamaica) recently bought a scooter from MXMotorsports and she said the experience was great. They were very helpful and they were very informative. Now, contrast that with what I saw online about them and I can only say that USAWholesalescooters sound like angels! People from all over the US had bad things to say about MX, far worse than USA. Of course, that's no indication that my experience will be good...
What I've done is asked my girl to drive to the store and have a look around and so on to see how legit they are. I tried to get a Google Earth shot of the place but it seems as if it's an old set of shots, perhaps before they got to that location. Anyway, I'll let you guys know what she sees. Thanks.

She went there this morning and had a look around. The store wasn't opened yet when she went there but she says it looks pretty legit. I finally found an updated result from Google Earth which conforms to what my girl saw. She didn't talk to anybody there but talking to somebody has never been my problem. I just wanted to have a look to see if the place looks reputable. Finding out if it is reputable can only be trial and error at this point. I'm gonna take the plunge guys...Gonna take a chance. I'll keep the board up to speed on the progress. I've started to stock up on some accessories too. I ordered this the other night: Cruise ControlMore cool stuff to follow...stay tuned...

@ jmkjr72: I'm gonna be getting the 4 speed manual bike. I thought about a Crampbuster, and it really looks like a pretty good idea. The good thing with the CB over the TL is that when u let go of the throttle to brake it lets go as well. The TL can and will hold revs. However...I found a guy on Youtube that set his TL up in a unique way. He rotates the TL lever 180 degrees so that it touches the brake lever when the brake is applied. Just a slight touch and the TL disengages. Here's the vid:
(Ironically, he also has a CB fitted)
@ thunderkat59: LOL! Thanks for the vote of confidence. But really, I have no choice in the matter. I simply have to deal with South Florida, know what I mean? But that being said, what issues did you have with any bike/scooter outfit there?

I call them all the time 1-954-567-1001 so I would recommend that. I spoke to Shannon and she gave me her boss's direct email. You can address your query to Jennifer and her email is usascooters@aol.com...Apparently they are working on a new website shortly. Let me know if the email works.
