Grab the the whole belt in the middle and squeeze it tightly around the rear pulley and then pull on it really hard toward the front of the engine and it might wedge itself in there a little bit which will give you room to get your fingers in there and open it all the way.

LB=LONGBO I have a TK139QMB motor in the shop from a Tank scooter. TK=Tank Interesting. All my new scooters have 'BD' on them and they come from Boadiao Locomotive. I guess Yellow Fever had a Boadiao motor put in it somewhere along the way.

Makes sense....I also have a Tank.....TK147QMG......150 short case with a 47 mm bore. It was an odball true 100 they imported. But this belt is killing me. So I may take some advice as others said.....REMOVE the clutch assembly...."Gorilla Squeeze" this belt in.....and carefully slide it back on...

I had to fit a new contra spring. The polini was just rubbing enough that you could slide it on but when you assembled the clutch the friction down the whole spring was enough to stop the clutch moving

Did get it on.....had to remove rear pulley...put it in a vice and pry it open......with a pry bar...and work the belt into....then carefully slide it over the rear...while working the front belt over the CVT shaft...... :thumb:

I understand we're supposed to be cordial here but I honestly think that you may be pulling our collective leg usmcdoc. I think this whole thread could be a fabrication. You say you have an impact and you seem intelligent so either you have really bad arthritis or you are full of it. I mean c'mon! I see posts from girls that had an easier time than you allegedly had changing a friggin' belt!@ Pry bar and a vice? 0 miles on the clutch? Lets get honest here! Maybe I'm just paranoid but I feel the need to fly the flag on this one and I don't do that very often if you know me for a while. FYI: I read the scootdawg thread too... scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=46726

I've had a rear pulley be incredibly tough before for no reason I could see. I'm not a small guy and it gave me hell. Trying to squeeze it to open, using the belt to try and pull it inward, rotating the pulleys, etc... I took it all apart and cleaned it and it was fine after that. I assume it was an issue with the torque driver and it's pins/guides causing the hang up, but I really don't know for sure.
If you got it and it is still super hard to open the rear pulley, something's probably wrong. If you find it near impossible to open and yet the scooter runs just fine, then you might just need more elbow grease or something.

Maybe I'm just paranoid but I feel the need to fly the flag on this one and I don't do that very often if you know me for a while. You are just paranoid.....I have changed at least 12 belts for foks without a hitch. This "New 0 miles" skoot sat in the back of a showroom for over 5 years. The torque sheathe was frozen up from sitting....furthermore when I got it....the factory shipping oil was so old and thick like molasses....I drained what I could....filled the crank with kerosene....removed the plug....put a drill and socket on the flywheel.....and hand to crank for about mins to circulate and get the oil to drain. Did that twice....and clean as new. So fly the bullshit flag all you want. If all our probs were the same...and so easy....would we even have a forum here to discuss stuff? I find many of your posts gruff and aggressive. But so be it if all your issues with skoots are "easy and texbook".....while the rest of ours are not....

Whatever. I don't really care one way or the other. You have to admit it really sounds fishy that a grown man with all the right tools and experience was letting a simple belt change kick his ass. I'll take the gruff and aggressive comment as a compliment thank you very much! Better that than passive and weak. The internet is full of folks that love to masquerade as somebody else and/or just screw with people because they have nothing else to do so I've always got my skeptic shirt on underneath my friendly helpful guy jacket. I'm sorry if I was wrong but in my defense, if that scoot was in my shop I would have tackled that frickin' belt in 10 minutes tops. I hope I don't sound too gruff or aggressive.
