Thanks for the offer, but if I am going to up size my cylinder I think I will simply order from a UK site and accept the increased postage and the wait. Besides your jet looks a little different than mine. Not sure it would fit anyway.

Well I think I found a really good source for Minarelli LC parts. They have tons of cylinder kits. they have an aftermarket replacement head too. They also have Gurtner carb jets many in stock. they are located in Canada so it should be pretty painless to have shipped. www.spmotostore.com/product_p/mf28.16807.htmNow I am torn. My desire is to simply replace the head and keep it as close to stock as possible. The problem is I am not 100% certain that the blow by at the spark plug is my problem or atleast my only compression problem. There is certainly gases escaping from the spark plug hole. If I get a complete cylinder then that should certainly take care of the problem. If I buy only the replacement head and it does not solve my problem I will be kicking myself.

I am leaning towards the 70cc kit I showed earlier but one thing gives me the willys about it. The piston has one compression ring instead of two. Why did they do that?

They use one compression ring to cut back on friction at high revs and make more power. I'd go with the 70cc kit. Even if you don't wanna go faster up top, you can usually cruise faster at lower throttle positions, cruise faster on windy days or up hills, and have improved acceleration. Can't find any 2 ring kits close to the price of the single ring?

The cool thing is this place offers the Gurtner jets I need. I have had a lot of difficulty finding them.

If I go with the 70cc I have read that I should expect to upjet from a range of 72 to 90. This place has jets in stock sizes 76, 78, 82, 88, 90

A single ring kit is alright. It'll run harder at high revs. The dual ring kits usually have a bit more low-midrange power and usually can last longer before needing a rebuild. Considering your concerns of practicality, I would think a dual ring kit makes more sense.
