so, i am going to tell y'all about project LuCkY...i named her lucky, because she's lucky to be alive. it is/was a roketa mc 02 50b that had been nearly destroyed. when i got her, the body needed some SERIOUS work. and so did the engine. after fiberglassing it all back to original state. the engine quit on me. after nearly a week of troubleshooting the problem was solved. she runs better then ever now. BUT. i just ordered 4g rollers, performance variator 100cc big bore kit 20mm big bore carb gy6 racing cdi cr7 iridium spark plug a high performance air filter 2k torque springs high performance clutch performance a9 camshaft and a performance transmission gear set and last but not least a performance rear shock...all that for around $650 CANT WAIT FOR THIS STUFF TO ARRIVE^^^ and, i took an old car radio i had laying around, made my own coathanger anteanna, and installed my 12" sub in the seat bucket, along with my bright blue neons from walmart. thanks to 1FASTQMB for the troubleshooting with the unmodded engine. love you lucky! thanks for reading about project LuCkY -josh coahran

a 2k torque spring with 4g rollers your top speed is gonna be about 25mph with the rpms through the roof...it will be like a car stuck in 2nd gear. 4g is too light even for a stock 1000 torque spring.
Use a stock 1000 blue spring and 5.5g dr. pulley sliders for all around good driveability (good on hills but still makes good top end).
understand that the roller weights and the torque spring counter balance each other....the heavier the spring the heavier the rollers need to be. with a red 2000 k spring your rollers would need to be about 8-9g i guess.

May I suggest, some better tires, often over looked in upgrades, but make a world of differce in performance and safey.. Pirelli or Michelin's are great.. I would not trust that Chineese rubber. Www.motorcyclesuperstore.comHas these brands and many others.

well, indiana has very few hills, so im looking for the best top speed possible, i've noticed that even at 45mph i can easily glide up most of these hills, barely losing 5 mph in the process. what would be the best combination for that? 2k and 9g? thanks.

you arent getting it i dont think. the weights and the spring make it 'change gears' so to speak. 2k and 9g wont make it any faster than 1k and 5.5g
top gear is top gear no matter how it gets there.

its kind of like a 10 speed bike...you start off with a small gear in the front and big gear in the back...you pedal and change gears so you end on the big gear in front and the little one in the back....thats how a continuosly variable transmission works......
the weights are in the front and the spring is in the back....they counter balance each other....so 2k and 9g (if that is a good match) will not be any faster than 1k and 5.5g
Through my tuning i have found 1k and 5.5g to be a good match so that is what i recommend.
what DOES make it faster on the top end is the shape of sliders vs rollers. sliders reach a higher gear because of their shape.

i also strongly advise you to use the stock gears at first and make that work to your liking. THEN install the 'performance' gear and see what affect that has...and tune the cvt accordingly.
When modding its best to do things one at a time for the most part....so that you can see what affect one thing has on other things. its hard to put a bunch of parts together and then try to tune...because you are never quite sure what is affecting the other thing.
Knowing what combinations work best is something that takes lots of experience....and patience....the latter of which i have not see one bit of in you lol no offense.

well im not payin $30 for something i can get for 10 thanks for all of the info. i understand it better now, and i will more then likely take your advice. by the way, before i go out and buy ANOTHER torque spring...what size usually comes stock? ps. you are right, i do not have experience, thus why i constantly say i'm new to engines and still learning, patience is a good trait of mine though. if i wasn't patient i would have threw my bike away the second day i couldn't get it running haha. thanks.

A blue 1k spring and a stock spring acted exactly the same on my bike...and i had to buy 1k, 1.5k and 2k (blue, yellow, red) to compare....then sell the ones i didnt want. You want to mod and tune..get your $$$ right

oh, they were rollers, apoligies.
thats what im going with. the rollers.
so i shouldn't even buy a new spring? just keep the stock one right? i've got them to put a hold on my order until i get things figured out. thanks.

thats what im going with. the rollers. okay...but sliders reach a little higher top gear...and last at least 5x as long as rollers. one set of $25 sliders will outlast at least 5 sets of $10 rollers. rollers get flat spots on them and bring your speed down after awhile. sliders are much better all around.
