My ATM has a little over 300 miles, that were on the bike when I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I' m thinking stock is fine with me except changing the carb. I do drive on a cinder dirt road for a short stretch, when it dry it,s very dusty. Would an upgrade on the air filter be a good idea, like the uni high flow GY6 50.? Then would the keihin PD185 18 mm 85 , 90 95 jets be the right chose? How often to you clean a filter? How often with the sea foam , which I already use in my car, and how much in such a small tank. I will be checking out the tech library. I seriously appreciate the advise, an expertise. Thanks

The carb & jets sound about right. I would suggest checking/cleaning your filter every 500 miles and keep an eye on it. I like to do oil changes that often, so check the filter every time you do an oil change. In a dusty environment, it shouldn't be hard to tell when it needs cleaning. You can pick up cleaning kits for the UNI that include cleaner and UNI filter oil for after it's cleaned for about $15. With a small filter like our scoots use, it should last quite a while.

There is the smell of gas in the shed where the ATM is parked, is that normal? Or would a different gas cap change that? Looking into getting a scooter carrier for the back of the suzuki grand vitara, aluminum,37lbs. Problem is I Have a one and a quarter receiver, carrier needs 2 inch receiver. I can get an adapter , but would it be strong enough to carry scooter for a long drive? Thanks

Try taking the baffel off the tube on the front of the air box and plug it. Then plug the tailpipe. I would think this would cut down on the fumes but I'm not sure if it would have any affect on the overall health of the scoot, so I'm not doing it until someone else who knows more replies with a yea or nay.

Have you taken your carb apart recently? My gasket was on wanky so it had a slow drip of gas...

Gas smell a lot better, I think it was overfilled . I,ve read about the UNI high flow air filter ,but it sure looks a lot diffrent then what's on the ATM 50 now. How does that fit ?

It fits over the mouth of the carb and the airbox is totally removed. You would need to do something with the crankcase vent that normally runs to the airbox... 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/997/crankcase-ventingYou'll need to tune the carb with a larger main jet at least.

If it's 2200km or 2200mi, the previous owner prob shook the Chinese bugs out for you. I would change all fluids and go over the CVT as well as performing a valve adjustment. Have a look at the spark plug just to see if anything is obviously wrong.
