First problem i encountered was the exhaust. The manifold is desisgn for a sport style scooter, mine is vespa style.
But hey, nothing a good ribbond saw ans a welding mig cant fix.
I ll be getting on this tomorrow morning and i ll have some pictures to post about that first mod.
Since the BBK will go on it in only 2 weeks,( i use the scoot to ride to work and the BBK is my vacation project) i installed lighter rollers yesterday.
Just could not live anymore with the fact that i was getting passed by some 78 yrs old little bingo playing gramma in a 92 toyota tercel
Original rollers were 6,7, i went down to 4,5. It wont do wheelies (yet) but its sure is fun to finally have some torque on the throttle.

Good luck with the mods! I have the same type of scooter, and had the same issues with finding an exhaust. Ended up modding a Leo Vince and got it to fit just fine. A bit loud, but what the hell... :-)
A tip though; the engine is almost impossible to work on when in installed in the scooter, there is no space and the panels are quite cumbersome to remove. I always drop mine right out for any major work, it really only is 2 bolts and some hoses and cables, then you can lift the scooter right of the engine. Makes any work much, much easier.

i really like your handle bars. they look like they would be real comfortable when your just kinda leaning back relaxing while your cruising down the road.

The bike is awsome to drive on long streches of road. I just strech my legs, move back on the seat and i feel like im on a Baby Davidson.
As for the pipe, As you can see i scavenge the muffler to make a bracket to hold the new muffler. Then i had to try and modify the header that came with it. That was a disaster. The iron used to make it is so cheap, that it kept piercing for the heat of the welding.
So i use the header from the old muffler and welded the flange from the new header to it. worked perfectly.
Once i get the BBK in, i might have to buy a new header as the one i 'm using now is a tiny bit smaller then the one that came with the new muffler. (Old header has the external diameter of the new header internal diameter)
But i would like to have some of your expertise on this header issue.
Im off to fiddle around with the carb, probably a bigger jet and maybe add a P-Flow to it and see how it goes.

Just tell everyone it a stepped header designed for low end torque and throttle responce.

Just tell everyone it a stepped header designed for low end torque and throttle responce. I'll do just that!!! After trying to adjust the carb, witch was way too rich (3 turn of the screw to get back my coffe colored plug) i though that it might be a good thing to make this baby breath i bit better. So i punched a few "little" holes in my air filter box. What you see here was a deep fryer filter. At 47 i should lay off the french fries anyway :lol2: The filter is glued in place with good old corking

Been searching the net on how to fine tune a carb and found what i was looking for.
So i riped off my seat and had a go at it, Iddle screw, needle and jet.
After punching the airbox the bike became way too lean so i adjusted the iddle screw, moved up my needle and installed a 90 jet ( original was 88)
No more hesitation when i lauch from a corner now anf i can get to 60 kph without going WOT.
I also installed some 3,5g rollers. With the 4,5g ones i was not getting my rev up enough to get in the power band but 3,5 might just be a little bit over kill. Now it revs up a little bit too much so i ll try mixing 3,5g and 4,5g to get to 4g.
Just cant wait till im on vacation to rip off that 49 and install my BBK. I might just do it this week on my 2 days off coz i think i sucked enough infos on the "how-to" from here and the net.
Just all be ready for questions and pics if it dont start on the first shot :spin:
