I'm not a fan. All my builds have ran more to my liking with rollers, others have differences in how they like their setup. It's something you'll have to try and see for yourself.

Cool thanks Dave Yea ima just stick with my rollers ATM... Don't have the $27 to throw at some sliders that may or may not help.....

I've run them in a Stage6 variator that ate them and my Malossi OR. I like light rollers for my light weight and the snappy, rev happy throttle response.

I'll let you know on the wear I experience and sooner or later I'll try and see if the same weight of rollers or sliders works. Don't really know ATM because it's a new top end and I've had enough other stuff popping up that I just wanted to focus on getting it ready to ride for now. Had an appointment first thing in the morning. Came home and a utility worker comes over as I'm walking inside and tells me I have no electricity and won't for hours. Perfect. They sent me back to the dark ages... After a bit of swapping parts to and fro I realized the noise I heard was the belt hitting the CVT cover. The strange part is I heard a noise with the cover off yesterday, so maybe I actually did cure that by swapping in a clutch with less wear that is closer to the bell. I saw the marks on the cover before, but it sounded like metal to metal to me. It seems that my stock contra spring is losing it's ability to keep the belt taut. I didn't have another like it and I'm already using foil in my sliders to make them 11g, so I just added the Malossi Torsion Control in hopes that it may add some small amount of preload/stiffness to help with the slack near idle. It seemed to work to some degree because I don't hear it as much now. I do notice that my clutch is engaging a good bit after my belt starts shifting after all the swapping, even though I put 1000RPM springs back in. I was tempted to put stock springs in, but it hardly revs now before engaging and I'm thinking once it's hot the 1000RPM springs will be better for it. I think the solution will probably be to get a stiffer/new contra spring and adjust weight accordingly with solder or whatever and then worry about the clutch. That may be why it feels like it slips rather than grabs when I go WOT from a low speed too, though I haven't been seeing glazed belts, dust, or marks on the drive faces. It could just be the OR vari doing it's thing. Whatever the case may be, it's staying like this for the moment. Then I got the solder out. Drilled out the plastic stuff in the thermocouple. Filled it with solder. Twisted the wires together and stuck them in the solder. Reconnected and it flashes between no reading and really high readings with the warning lights on. I reconnected the half-assed bolt-on deal and it'll do till I can get a replacement.

I've got a 10mm bolted to the head now. TT seems to be good with support and customer service so I'll get in touch with them and see what they say. Thanks though.

I dunno how they were attached. It was just a lot of plastic in there and the 2 wires. That's the best info I have. I assumed it didn't really matter how I connected them so I just twisted them together and soldered them in and that did not work at all. I just got back from about 8 hours straight on the scoot. Stopped for gas, changing GoPro batteries and cards, and bathroom breaks. No lollygagging with eating, drinking, socializing... pure unadulterated scoot time. I had a friend text me when I was out to see where I'd be or how the show was so he may meet up with me. I found this out after I was home. Like I told him, I'm riding so the last thing I'm worried about is checking my cell phone. In fact I'm riding so no one can get in touch. I left at about 7AM. Made it just over 3 miles and turned around because all I got past 1/2 throttle was a bog. I was almost certain I had a clogged main jet. I got back and decided to press my luck and just take out the jet before removing the whole carb to save time. Found this: I assumed it was just a fluke because I don't have rubber hoses that sometimes leave debris like that and the filter was clean, so I cleared it out and reinstalled the jet. I headed back out and ended up riding 218.5 miles, for exactly 225 miles total today. Never hit my max temp till I turned the scooter off. Most of the time it was 170-210F so either I've got one cool running engine or any wind ruins the accuracy of this thermocouple on head. I didn't stop to take pics of anything, but I had the cam so hopefully I'll have some vid to share at some point. Lots and lots of modern and classic cars cruising at the show. I did get to race 2 guys on scooters. I think they were rentals. Smoked them from a red light. Then they said something like "c'mon let us have a head start or something" at the next light. Let them go and smoked them again. Then some local on a scoot made me feel dumb. I left him on every clear stretch because I tend to go faster. He just putted along but is much more used to traffic so I'd be sitting in with the cars to pass a bus or people in the turn lane and he'd go squeeze through or just choose a better path. I'm too used to late night country roads where I do as I please. I wanted to ride longer because there were so many cars out and it was a beautiful day, but traffic got really heavy and people were constantly cutting in and out of the scooter/bus/bike/turn lane. Then when I was in areas where I ride with traffic it was nothing but get the clutch to engage, stop, clutch engage, stop, walk a little, clutch engage, stop, and so on. The biggest disappointment for me is that I left the old tire on specifically to do a good burnout. Last year someone yelled for a burnout and I failed somehow. This time the setup easily starts the tire going and I had an old tire and I never ended up in a burnout crowd.

Sounds like a great ride! Even with the work I've done on my seat my ass would be hurting!

Glad you got to go this year, sounds like a good time!
I am bummed a little. Its Harley week here, and we have been so busy at work I have not had the time to get the 70cc or the 99cc scooter running. I tried to get the 99cc going, but I hosed up the last big crank seal I had trying to put it in and gave up on that one. So I rode the Vino last night for about 2 hours, and my hips hurt so bad this morning it took me half an hour to get moving. Today I went for a short ride on the Zuma, and it was barely any better. The Vento style scoot is the only one that I can ride that is not uncomfortable.

The show is as big as any I recall there and I've been going since the 90s Jwhood. The down side to that is traffic is horrible. Really the way to enjoy it would be to park and join the crowds of spectators. I just looked at my gas receipts. Filled up after the trip down, after riding around town, and then part way home. 36.6MPG heading down. 52.6MPG in town. 40.9MPG mostly heading home, some in town. It was quite windy today so I don't think that did me any favors on the fuel economy, but 36.6 is still a bit rough. I know it's on the rich side, but I'm trying not to melt anything else just yet.

On the bright side, you guys have Mustang Week so start making sure that Vento is ready to roll with the ponies. I wanna see a vid of you leaving on whatever that highway is where they all do burnouts, sliding the back of the Vento out.
