I was just talking to Jeff of ScooterTuning.Ca via email and asked about exhaust for the TPR. Specifically the 2FAST 86cc. He said they have had great luck with the MHR Big Bore for 77-86cc. Considering a roughly $100 difference, I'll prob just go that route then. At least it sticks to a little more of the idea of "budget" hyper race.
The 2FAST takes at least a month. He also said that Jolly Moto is rumored to be closing soon. They currently make the 2FAST. He's not sure who will make them after that.
He also confirmed that polymer should face the crank when installing that sort of crank bearings (SKF 6204 TN9/C3 w/polymer cage), so my bearings are backwards. Whatever. I don't plan to take it apart till they fail or I have it apart for some other reason.

Jolly Moto closing? That's sad. They make excellent exhausts. A lot of the two stroke motorcycle builders even use them for one off builds. I guess it's a sign of the times. Two Strokes are a dying breed.

Perfect time to teach the craft/art to a young gun with energy to carry the torch. I personally think John should give up his aircraft business and become a high school auto shop teacher for a while. Sure, they'll question why the only thing they're learning all year is cutting and welding and tuned pipe theory, and John will have to live on a teacher's salary and maybe a few planes land a little harder than they wanted to without John around. You have to look at the bright side though. We'd have a whole lot of skilled pipe makers after a while. Plus John would get summers off.

My R&D pipe is made by Jollymoto.. it is art. Big loss if they do close their doors.

I rode T2 to a friend's house this morning, about 30 miles round trip. It was right on 40F outside when I was leaving. I let the scooter warm up for 5 minutes. It never even hit 100F coolant temp on the way over. Stayed between 94-98F.

What kinda temps do you wanna see with this machine, Brent? And does the TPR head has room for a thermostat?

It has room for a thermostat. I don't really know what temp it should stay above. I wouldn't think it should get much colder than what it ran yesterday, but an easy and cheap solution would be cardboard over one radiator. I don't even know where to get thermostats for these things.

I think the AM minarelli thermostats fit (aprilia RS50) also the derbi. Easy solution and not worry about a failed thermostat is covering one radiator or a restriction in one of the hoses. Machine a bushing or get a needle valve.

A needle valve is a great idea actually. You could even adjust it while riding.

Honestly, I'll just put cardboard over it if I get worried about it. 90% of the time that I ride during the year, too cold won't be an issue. Cardboard is super simple and with the added bonus of no bugs or rocks on one radiator for a bit. I could easily put cardboard on there and then take it off and toss it under the seat if it warms up later in a day. Most of the time that it's really cold, it prob won't be more than riding to a friend's house. Once it's actually winter and there's salt everywhere, I'll just take the TMAX or a cage. Plus, eventually I'll be getting to race build on this. At that point, I prob won't really be able to ride it anywhere anyway.

ERR,dont think it really matters looking at the construction of the bearing as there are areas on both sides that are open to oiling..Main ball bearings dont need pressure oiling, just a drool here and there will keep them happy..The big end bearing on the con rod is where all the high stresses are and thats a whole different subject,so ride on and worry less!!
