oceancitylive.com/ocean-city-webcams/ocean-city-traffic-cam/I turned on the traffic cam for 1 minute earlier. 3 tow trucks in a group with lights on, with one car on one. 1 cop parked near the screen. At least 2 sets of flashing lights in the distance. ...But also a few scoots. Turned it on again a minute ago. Immediately a group of scoots passed by. Then a few more. Also a sheriff waiting on the side and some lights ahead. It figures the show most likely to have people on rentals and where some custom Rucks show up has to be the one that gets nuts. I'm still on the fence. Those other scooters really NEED to be smoked though. Can we really have 4Ts rollin' around out there like they own the place? What's the world coming to? If good sense doesn't stop me, the scoot may. I'm going out to cut the head down from the new kit in just a moment. Hoping I can get the engine together and let it seal overnight. I'd need tomorrow to try to tune so if it doesn't go well it won't matter if I want to go or not. New cylinder kit, new clutch, timing change, new front brake, repacked silencer, new airbox, carb cleaned and float height lowered, it would need a new belt if I end up going and I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. Speaking of a new clutch; here's a video about the Stage6 MKII Torque Control clutch (unboxing, tuning and results) : youtu.be/dV2qgdgmwkM That street in the webcam view is begging T2 to tear it up, the street lights are looking like drag track lights. All those lanes and nice white lines begging for T2 to tear it up. I am watching the cam waiting to see 90GTVert go by doing a wheelie

Speaking of a new clutch; here's a video about the Stage6 MKII Torque Control clutch (unboxing, tuning and results) : youtu.be/dV2qgdgmwkMAbout time you installed it. Like I said I use the pre load spring adjustment to fine tune my clutch engagement to my liking. I have all the brass weights with the orange springs in my setup to engage around 4000rpm for street use.

90GTVert Just watched your clutch video and I would like to ask you something. When you do your test runs you crank it open to WOT and your engine sound and rpms are consistent rising. When I do the same with my daily driver (Prebug) my rpm jump up to something like 8700-8900rpm and then briefly drop around 600rpm down and then start to pick up again. What is the cause of that? Too stiff torque spring or too high clutch engagement? I would like to have also smooth rpm climb all the way to the top.

Too stiff torque spring or too high clutch engagement? I would like to have also smooth rpm climb all the way to the top. The clutch grabs and once the engine is under full load it loses a little RPM for a sec so it sounds like basically there's not enough torque to maintain. Could be that trying to get the clutch to slip a little more would solve that. With the S6 clutch, you could remove weights and that may do it. Make sure you watch the belt. If it moves a lot, you may be better off backing off the clutch engagement a bit or trying to shim the drive boss. Could be that switching to a set of torque driver grooves that resist change more would be of some use. Lighter weights or a stiffer contra could help, but either of those could throw off the rest of the tune. As shown in the video, data collection helps a lot to figure out what really works.

Sigh. I was just about to say I was gonna go to H2Oi tomorrow. Literally was typing to say that. Then I looked at a few other things in the process. First, they blocked off OC in the middle of "the strip" and forced all traffic down a highway if you wanted to get to the other end. Not only causing one side to take a detour, but making the opposite direction on the strip bumper to bumper. Apparently they had a 3 car accident on the highway that they were forcing people onto and opened regular lanes within 10 minutes of that. They said before the event that they may redirect traffic out of town, but that sounded outrageous to me like an idle threat to scare off crowds. Guess not.
Then I just saw that someone was shooting off fireworks. A trooper chased him on foot briefly and tackled him. 2 cops had him down and then some other guy tries to tackle the cops off of the fireworks guy. Long story short, it ended up with lots of cops threatening people on the sidewalks with pepper spray. Aside from the police state, I also saw that there are indeed crowds of people without masks. Then I saw more videos of crowds and police. Then a video of a fight on the sidewalk and a guy getting kicked in the head.
National Guard is on standby according to the mayor/news.
I've seen lots of impound stories today. The news said 75 impounds in one day. Saw a ticket posted. Guy did a burnout (who knows how bad) and got everything from the most basic spinning tires ticket to reckless driving. With special event zone add-on fines, his ticket was something like $3500, with the option to knock off a $1000 offense by spending 60 days in jail.
Saturday has always been the wildest night of H2Oi, so I'm curious to see how that goes after all of this. That said, I ain't gonna be there. I'm all for some burnouts, racing and wheelies... but this is becoming less about cars and more about young people vs police and "boomers".
What worries me is that they now have this same authority via the special event zone legislation on the classic car shows if they decide they want to use it.

sorry to say , doesn't sound like you're missing much . maybe it'll get back to normal in the future ? The goal for the town is that H2Oi never comes back. I think they may get that done within a couple of years if not after this one. I looked at the cams this afternoon and it looks like a car show. Saw some vid yesterday afternoon of burnouts on Baltimore Ave. Those make me sad to miss it, but in every video I see crowds of people without masks and I'm sure it gets rowdy again tonight. ...And I want no parts of a crowd like this : http://instagram.com/p/CFm_ZOigB3T

yeah , maybe people are changing their minds about something, don't know. who was/is the original sponsors of this anyway. how did it all get started. where I'm going is , seems like they could just flat out shut it down ; but I get that they want it done gradually . too much outcry / police state
dude won't be laughing when he finds out he's a felon .

who was/is the original sponsors of this anyway. how did it all get started. where I'm going is , seems like they could just flat out shut it down ; but I get that they want it done gradually . too much outcry / police state H2Oi or H2O International was originally a water cooled VW and Audi car show. It has never taken place in Ocean City, MD to my knowledge. It used to be a bit outside of OC, but the people that came to the show ended up staying in OC and seeing how much fun it was to cruise the strip. I still say the strip is one of the best places anywhere for a gearhead during the car shows. So H2Oi lead sort of a double life. The real H2Oi was a car show outside of town, but people started coming in for the sideshow that happened in OC and it got to a point that when people think of H2Oi, they think of the shenanigans on the strip and not the actual event. In 2017, H2Oi was canceled. That's the sanctioned car show. That didn't stop all of the people that showed up to cruise the strip though. Now the real sanctioned H2Oi show is in Atlantic City NJ. Everything that happens in OC is unsanctioned and officials refer to it as a popup car rally to not shed a negative light on the real show. Everyone else still calls it H2O though. That has been the tricky part for the town for the past few years. The entire event was never planned or approved by anyone on any local council. It just shows up, unapologetically proclaiming "You can't stop us!" and it just keeps getting more and more rowdy. It's also a new challenge, because most planning that is done is on social media and happens quickly live. So some social media film maker with a following sends out that he'll be filming burnouts on some side street and the next thing you know there's a crowd on that street. Last year there were cops hit by rocks and trash trying to break up a crowd that took over a main street and that's when the mayor vowed that this would never happen again in his town. He was kinda wrong about that apparently, but clearly they're trying to make this as miserable as they can do drive people away and put an end to the unofficial and unsanctioned H2Oi or popup car rally.

ok I get now .
personally I never was thrilled too much by pointless screaming , foolishness etc . .
I enjoy a good burnout , donuts as much as the next guy but there's a huge difference between a good car , etc. show and other things that easily go overboard - by fools . there are thin lines everywhere .

Looks like everything is under control in OC tonight too. Two totally different sections of town, and these used to be streets. A bunch of vids from last night. Wild. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcDCY2FreS

Don't these people realise that this is only going to escalate the situation? I guess it really is the end of H2O now.

Spent a few minutes looking around this morning. The crowds got worse. They ended up having to call for any available police from surrounding areas (already supposed to be 250 in town) and the governor coming to their command center. Looks like they did some traffic re-routing even earlier in the day before all of this and again forced all traffic out of town.
Meanwhile, people are already posting that they'll be back in 2021. That means the lawmakers will get more aggressive with the special event zone stuff, which will also apply to the sanctioned car shows. So everything that happens at H2Oi will end up affecting all car events there even though the majority of chaos this weekend had nothing to do with cars.
