Iv been following this thread over the last couple years . I have a rc-1 in a zuma and learned a lot simply from this thread alone. I wanted to mention my findings on the Dellorto carb. I had the same symptoms of running out of fuel on high speed runs. I first thought I was crazy and that I was fouling the plug so something. Finally I melted a piston from too lean. I rebuilt the top end and went over the carb closely. Fuel inlet nipple at the carb was easy to move around so I took it out for investigation. The hole going through the carb to the float stop valve was very small. I should have taken a picture. I drilled it out to 5/16 as well as verify the rest of the fuel system was not restricted. Last couple days Iv been breaking it in and never once ran the bowl dry. I up jetted from 152 to 155 and it’s been ripping solid. Hit 85 on the highway and didn’t get fuel starvation. If you ever go back to the Dellorto investigate that passage. Hopefully you get this back up and running 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 Thanks. I actually flow tested the Dell and it flowed more than the other carbs I checked. I've ordered another. I'm tired of blowing stuff up and it has worked when used during all these PWK fails. I actually asked Ryan if he still had his VHST from the RC-One and he said you already bought it. I couldn't remember having 2 of them. Just looked it up and I used his from the start. I didn't buy the RC-One as the full kit and considered a 34mm PWK like Ryan instead. I'm glad I waited to use a PWK because I would have hated this thing if my experience started out like this has gone.

The new VHST came in yesterday so I swapped it and the intake. I was lazy. I always clean new carbs. I decided that I didn't need to. There's no excuse, but I had a bunch of stuff to do already and my aunt hit her head and needed help which lead to needing help with other things... and... yeah. I just removed the shim under the needle clip like my other carb and called it good enough since it comes with a 150 main jet and I was using a 145 in the other. This is a quality carb. I've never really found much of anything when cleaning new carbs so it'll be fine. Well, it fired up and wouldn't idle right unless I played with the choke. The mix screw didn't respond. It acted like a clogged pilot jet, but I thought it probably just wanted a larger pilot jet since it's a 33 and I've been using 35-38 in the other VHST. I took it apart and the pilot jet was completely blocked. I couldn't see any light through it. It took carb cleaner and compressed air to clean after multiple attempts. I swapped it to a 35 anyway. Then it idled OK. I went for a quick 18 mile ride, just cruising around back roads at 40-45MPH mostly. It feels annoying to me with the conservative ignition timing. The lack of advance makes it much less responsive at lower throttle positions, to the point that it feels like something is wrong. I've experienced it back to back before changing curves in the past though, so I'm pretty sure it's just the timing. I don't want to put in a better curve till I run it hard, and I'd like to give it at least another somewhat easy ride. I will note that the poor starting of the Stage6 PVL seems even worse when you have an 86cc with an MVT beside it that doesn't need a strong kick to not result in pops and whooshes or heavy kickback. hypervertical has used both on his 100cc recently and seems to like life with the MVT better as well. Like me, his opinion seems to be that the benefit of the PVL is the programmable ignition and otherwise it feels inferior. As usual, I've got the opposite opinion of damn near anything that everyone else likes LOL... but at least someone is with me. A riding buddy messaged me last night and I told him I rode it. He wants me to come to a ride tomorrow over an hour away and of course bike week in OC the next weekend. I told him I'm going to try to blow it up before bike week. I got "Nooooo" in reply. LOL I said I'm not coming out with something that I'm afraid to run hard. If I can't do what I want with it, it's junk. He thinks I'm crazy. I don't need it to run a mile WOT even. I need it to get through some 1/8 mile passes unscathed and then I'll feel fine about it. I don't think I ever go more than 330ft on the gas when out screwing around at the beach. Anything can happen, but I don't find it fun to haul the scoot 70 miles just to have to have it fail. Plus, if Ryan ends up being able to make it, I don't want him to come down just for my engine to go on the first lap or something. It's gonna do 1/8 mile runs or I'll plan on trying to get T1 out instead. I'd just prefer this one because my greatest joy in life was seeing Harleys in the rear camera when they were trying to keep up.

Igntion timing definitely plays a huge role in getting through the low end and to the power! That's why I have always preferred the MVT do to its high advance early on, especially the eprom3.
I don't understand why they didn't design the stage6 igntion to send spark at a lower rpm? Is it because the stator won't put out enough juice at a low rpm to create spark? Or is it just set up to only send spark at certain rpm? If it was set up to send spark at a certain rpm I would think there would be a way to change what rpm it starts to send spark. My stage6 has to spun 750rpm+ to start, the MVT will literally start at 30rpm...
Wish there was a way to program the MVT igntion,I paid for the stage6 ignition and programming software and never even got to change the curve🤦 eventually I'm going to go back and try the stage6 again but for now I'm tired of spark plugs cracking and wiping the piston out.
I know eprom chips can be flashed, I'm sure there's someone out there that would know how to reprogram the erpom3 I feel the issue would be that it's full of epoxy and you couldn't easily get to the erpom chip to remove it. I tried milling the epoxy way and there's no way to do it without touching the internals at some point.

I put in a modified version of an already modified version of the MHR curve today. I spent a chunk of the day messing with T1 and the 86cc TPR. Then I got on T2. LOL Now that's a way to feel the difference in the two setups. I let off of it on the first pass because I wasn't ready for it. I can take off on T1 without any special prep. I'm as far forward as I can get on T2 and leaning forward and still can't get into the gas when the timing isn't conservative. It's such a huge difference in the kick in the butt that you get when you twist the throttle on the RC1 vs the 86. I honestly thought I went faster than I ever have on T2. Nope. LOL It was actually slower than the conservative timing because of throttle management to keep it on the ground... but damn it felt fast after riding the 86cc all day. Seeing it on paper is so much different than riding both back to back.
I'm probably just going to get the cold Denso out of it and put in a BR10EG or BR9EG, clean the wheels and call it ready for OC Bikefest.

It's a shame we get used to stuff we like to so quickly. You're constantly chasing the dragon. Believe it or not, it happened on my cr500 too. It's nice to have two bikes with different setups so the quicker one is still able to suprise you after you've ridden the slower one for a while.

I just wish i could register these scooters over here as a motorcycle. I’d love a setup to just play around with, without having to worry about getting a fine (€1500+ or court) and losing my drivers license (for everything). I’m stuck doing 45km/h (or 25 if i buy a slower class) or risk the forementioned. An option would be an aerox 100 or BW’s 100, but those are rare to find, and if you find em, what state will they be and the price… last one i found they wanted €4500… So i envy you guys, being able to play around with 72/86/94 or other cc’s Also, an rc one with all the parts will set me back €4380 something, just in parts i don’t know how i’m going to justify that to the wife

The regulations make it very hard to register a moped as a motorcycle. Different lighting regulations and all sorts of stuff. If you want to make a 250cc into a 350, it's easy. But not with a moped. It's a lot easier to make a 50cc Aerox faster than the 100. The 100 parts a quite expensive here too. Basically because nobody brought them.

OC Bikefest was a lot of fun this weekend. T2 ran great. I took it down Friday and rode around from about 6PM-1AM. On the first lap around town, I saw a couple of guys that I know and started riding with them. A car was being crazy swerving through bikes and one of the guys went up to him when stopped and said something. I was behind them and saw the car's reverse lights come on so I tried to stay where another car was at least partially shielding me in case the guy turned out to be full on nuts and start really trying to run people over, but he didn't back up. He just swerved at people and then carried on up the road. None of us had any idea what the reason was. We met up with more people from their group and then another group that they know. Lots of racing at lights. I got a couple of Harleys at one light. I took off and I watched one of them have that "no you don't" moment and start grabbing throttle and shifting... but he couldn't make up ground much. LOL He told me that thing's fast at the next light. Another dude on a Harley decided to swerve through our group, which looked really disrespectful to me. I came through after him, passed him way too fast for where we were. Slowed down to wait for him to catch up and did a power wheelie from 25 or so then gave him a palm up gesture like... your turn or what now? He wouldn't even look at me when I was beside him. LOL But I thought you were such a cool guy/badass? What was really crazy to me is that some of the other guys are Delaware drag racers with really fast cars. Turns out one of them is a guy I knew 20 years ago from cars and racing. Just funny that we met again riding scooters around. I got to bed around 4:30 that night and was up before 9. There was a group ride with people I've never met before with kickstands up at 2:30PM Saturday. I got all the batteries for the GoPro and the scoot charged and transferred files off of the memory cards. Grabbed something to eat and then loaded up T1 as well to head down. I only made it about 15 minutes before they were supposed to leave by the time I parked and unloaded. I took T1 because the group said to respect their town and basically don't be crazy in their post. No way I'd make it more than a few minutes in that ride with T2. LOL They're mostly people that met at the Smoky Mountain Small Bore Rally and some other locals. I met the guy that owns Small Fast Things, a local shop that does a lot of Ruckus and GY6 stuff. I handed out stickers when I showed up and later he asked if the site was me. I said yeah and he said he went there a lot when he was starting out for stuff like my big bore how tos. It's a bit depressing hearing how I've helped some much more successful people start their journeys, but I always appreciate hearing that I have been useful. I guess I've been making how-tos while everyone else makes money. One thing that was interesting to me is how none of them really knew anything about 2Ts. One guy did have a Motobecane moped with a pipe and said he was thinking about a Stage6 R/T kit made for it, but even he seemed to have no real experience around highly tuned 2Ts. They were telling me how it screams and were surprised how it goes. I told 'em they should see the other one. The idea that someone owns a business called Small Fast Things and doesn't know about tuned 2Ts just seems wrong to me. Not a bit of disrespect meant there. He was a very nice guy and his Ruckus was well done. I guess the market demands GY6 swaps and that's all that's really relevant. I think he built some of the Rucks there. They rode in formation, no craziness. I still enjoyed it. They went to a busy restaurant/bar at the end of one lap around town and I told them I was gonna keep riding. Came by the bar later and there was emergency equipment out there and I saw the group nearby. I went back to the truck to switch to T2 later and saw a few of them so I checked to see if they were just spectators. Unfortunately not. I believe what happened was that they were leaving and the woman on the red Honda Navi hit a motorcycle. I guess she pulled out in front of him? Not sure. Whatever the case, she went over the handlebars. She's supposed to be mostly OK but really shook up about it. I helped them load the moped and a stock Ruck into a truck without a ramp and then headed into town on T2. Lap 1 a guy that I met the night before came up beside me on a scooter and said to follow him and we went to meet more people. At one point the group got really big. This is much more chaotic than the earlier group ride and half of the time you're only with half of the group because some people have got ahead and aren't stopping or slowing down or you've got ahead and no one seems to want to wait up. Later in the night we were I think 6-8 wide between us and sport bikes racing at lights. LOL It was stupid, but damn fun. Some of the scoots launch better than me but I can pull on any of them once I get going. It's also so much different trying to take off surrounded by bikes revving and loud stereos then it is on a back road alone. We surprised some people. I raced a Camaro from a light and then from a slow roll and it was pretty close. The sport bikes might lag a little on launch, but obviously they come screaming past once they are in it. One went by with a passenger on the back and the wheel way in the air the whole way. Nuts. Packed up and left OC at about 1:45AM. So much for not staying out so late. I've been exhausted because again I got 4.5 hours of sleep. This time for no reason. My ears are still ringing from so much time on T2. It was a good time though.

It's nice you made it on T2. A shame Ryan couldn't be there. But it looks like you had a great time anyway. Nearly all the small bikes are four strokes here now. It's only the old vintage stuff, and a few old 90's or 2000's survivors. I did see a two stroke Chinese scooter last week. I haven't seen one for about 4 years now. I thought they were all long gone. I guess the money is in the GY6 platform now.

There are 2 other 2Ts in the late night group; a Jog and a Dio. I did the crank and case for the Dio... about 5 or them actually. I promise you we did our best to represent for two-strokes. I think we convinced a few people and spread awareness to some others. Awareness was wafting all over the place when 3 of us were together at red lights. LOL That reminds me. When I was the sole 2T in one group on T2, some guy walking past said "Castor oil smells better". I revved it up to give him a better sample of AMSOil Dominator and moved on.

36:15 in this video, the group last night minus a couple that wanted to walk around and look at Harleys in the inlet went by. I followed a cop most of the way across OC back to the truck at 1AM and it's amazing I didn't get pulled over when you hear it from the other side remembering most of that stuff has loud pipes on it. Don't judge me for finding this video via the thumbnail. LOL

Sounds like a great time, glad Leo was not as bothersome as they were in the past. The fall Harley rally is coming up soon here. I wish we had something more like your event.
