OK,get your go-pro camera and mount it looking in the CVT case with a strong light in there and see whats happening..NO,thats too whacky of an idea!! :dunno:
I still wonder if its the conical variator face thats heating the belt..

Sorry for not remembering the details but have you tried other CVT components? Vari, rear pulley etc?

I thought of the camera too John, but I don't like running without the cover to support the axle and I only have kick start.
I haven't tried other components.
I dunno when you'll see updates here. Might be tonight, might be some time? Part of me wants to get it going, but a big part of me is really tired of the kind of money this is eating up. It feels like I'm just pulling money out of my pocket and burning it. When I got on the scooter last night I told my father unfortunately it started again so I gotta go spend some more money. I can't recall other times when I've headed out for a scooter ride and really wished I wasn't. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to see what the new pipe would do... but I just expect something to go wrong on every ride because it pretty much does. I feel like an ass all my neighbors see me head out and they probably just wait to see me come back on the truck.

Hey Brent, you mentioned you were running this at one point (page 18, or 19) with a pipe designed for the larger bore, with a 60 pilot and 102 main? What size carb were you running, and what type of filter? Just trying to get more base numbers.

I feel like an ass all my neighbors see me head out and they probably just wait to see me come back on the truck. My neighbors really did do that, they'd hear me go past and then see me pushing it back shortly after. They used to try and guess if I'd ride or push it back

3.2 mile push? I'd have never made it. :skull: Sorry for your troubles. Hope you can revive it easily.

Oh, I was done when I got home and out of the heat and humidity. Dunno what happened. Didn't care. Just stalled out and that was it. It's been a bitch to start again lately. I had the same issue not long ago, and got it straight till now. Needs a diff starter jet or pilot again.
I don't like this pipe for this application. I think I'd be really happy with it if I didn't have the pipe meant for it. Makes good power, but not great. It just doesn't mesh with the cylinder. Revs around 10,000RPM, but the other pipe makes more power at 10-12,000RPM. I think it's probably a beast for most 90-100ccs, but most aren't gonna be near 200 degrees of exhaust duration like this motor.
Just to be 100% clear. The pipe is really nice. It works very well. It still makes a good bit of power. More than any other 90-100cc pipe I have... other than the custom pipe from 190mech. The stalling isn't the pipe's fault for sure, this engine has been very finicky.

Stinkin Aircraft Mechanics...hahaha - I hate the wiring harness too. It looks too messy. I almost cut the whole thing off to make my own. Then I realized - I just do not have the time to do that, but it sure would be fun. You go Bert.

Finally this thread gets to be ! Prepare to see how dumb I really am. So the in last ride video, T1 died and never restarted. A week or so ago, I decided to mess with T1 a little again. I was trying to start it and a ton of gas was coming out of the carb. When I pulled the filter off, fuel ran out. Then I kicked it again and more fuel dumped out. I figured that had to be a reed valve issue, so I took the intake and reeds out. Here's what I saw when I removed the assembly. What's that you ask? Oh, it's a straw like this... I had sprayed some carb cleaner in to get T1 fired up when it was having trouble. I remember the straw going AWOL, but I just thought it had rolled away. Not exactly. lol The bad news is that the reeds flapping against the straw have been damaged. They won't seal now. I need to get some carbon fiber and cut a new one. In the mean time, I picked up something I've wanted to try out for a while now. Stage 6 / Moto Tassinari VForce3 reeds. They should allow more airflow through by having 4 sets of reeds instead of 2 like most cages. I also went back to the stock airbox to try and quiet things down a little. I used UNI filter vents to get plenty of air through the stock box. I still need some work on the mounting as you can see. lol T1 is still loud. I think it might need a muffler packing job or something. It runs quite well for doing 0 tuning. I probably need some work on the starter circuit and maybe some small tweaks, but I expected the tune to be off much worse. It does feel like it hits a little harder with the new reeds. Here's a little vid. I got up somewhere above 65MPH. Never tried for top speed, just out having fun. Sorry the quality isn't great, it was getting dark. The last bit is added basically to show you why I never take the gopro out at night.

At first I was checking the mirror to see if I liked how I moved it. Then I was watching the road, the tach & temp, the road, the tach & temp... lol That's the first trip out on it so I was trying to see how it was doing. 302 degrees or so WOT. I can cool it down to about 270 cruising slower. I'm still amazed to do 50MPH at roughly 1/2 throttle.
