Before you chunk it, I'd probably give the flat top bowl a shot. If the carb's base has a receiver groove for the o-ring style gasket, it might be a problem. If it's flat, it should seal with a rubber gasket. You could also try contacting dellortodirect.com to see if they can get a gasket for a reasonable price.

You know with a 9" stretch you wouldn't have any air filter clearance issues Ben. Just a thought.

It's just a flat groove. It basically uses the same style of gasket as the stock Mikuni. O-ring style, but flat instead of round. I guess I'll get to work sanding it down tomorrow and see what I can come up with.

Ben, I found the float bowl for my old PHVB, do you want the whole bowl or just the gasket? You can have either/both free of charge.

Good. I'm ordering a UNI filter from them, so I figured I should throw a few other things in the cart while I'm at it. How far can you crush a UNI down until you start losing performance from it? I figure if I get the UNI, I won't have the issue with the plastic being in the way, since it's foam.

Dunno. Never tried to crush a UNI. I used to have a filter for a pocketbike that was foam with a chrome top and a coil inside that was actually meant to be collapsible. Wish I knew where to get one again.

I guess I'll find out how easily they crush when I get it! It won't have to crush very much, anyways. Just enough to get past that V in the plastic.

I have a UNI foam filter. It's hollow with a large coil inside. Crushes and returns to it's regular shape. Worked great attaching it directly to my carb and having it pressed to the frame. Over time it's going to wear down much faster (mine is starting to feel pretty weak where the foam connects to the rubber coupler).
I wouldn't worry about airflow restrictions from that... The amount of flow lost is going to be pretty insignificant. Just jet it with it crushed (obviously).

Hopefully this PHVB bowl works out too, and I should be set.
