Sucks about the stripped bolt, but they are no big deal once you get used to extracting them. Why can't you use the CF reeds? The bolt was fine, it was the threads in the hole it goes in that stripped. I cant use the reeds because they're too big to fit in the hole thats in the case. It looks like the screws are hitting the edge of the case as I press it down, because they used 3 screws on each side instead of 2 like the stock reeds did.

So you needed longer bolts I'm guessing? Tap set aren't overly expensive. www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=39384Is there room to dremel out the case to make for more clearance for your reed cage? I understand if you don't want to modify it permanently, of course.

I understand if you don't want to modify it permanently, of course. Oh trust me, I have pretty much every tool needed for every job possible. My dad has been working on vehicles since he was in his teens. He had a old scooter back before he was my age (yes a scooter, not a moped) and he did so much to it that it went over 60 MPH back then. It's still sitting in the garage collecting dust. He's a journeyman tool & die maker, but recently became a machinist. So we have everything from a lathe to a CNC machine As for dremeling the case. It's a possibility, but I really wouldnt want to risk getting any shavings inside of the engine. I have no desire to take my case apart anytime soon

I shaved my reed housing out a bit to fit my latest cage in. Did it with the cases sealed. Just get a rag real oily so it will hold most of the shavings. If you can put your motor upside down or on its side that will help even more. Dont forget to put some chewing gum or something in the notch were the cases meet. I didnt get any metal in mine and the cage fits good! Just be careful, you can do it!

So I worked on my scooter pretty much from the time I woke up until now. I got the following things done: Clutch springs changed to 2K RPM CVT cover vented Clutch bell painted red with caliper paint CVT cover painted gloss black Rear brakes replaced Final drive gear oil changed Front and rear rims cleaned, front brake caliper cleaned Auto enricher disabled, which made me need to retune the carb, and I found out I'm not running rich enough. It wasnt even close to in tune until I screwed both the mixture screw, and the idle screw, ALL the way in. So it's running at its richest right now, and still a bit lean. I'm gonna throw the 87.5 main jet in tomorrow morning and see how it runs after that. I'm in the market for another kevlar belt too. The heat from my CVT not being vented really killed this belt. It was nothing but belt dust when I opened the CVT this morning, and I had just cleaned it out last time I had it open when I changed the clutch. So about 2 weeks and my belt wore down that much. Partforscooters here I come! EDIT: uploaded some pictures today. Let me know what you think: And the finished product:

Nice work! Love the red clutch bell. Should stay nice and cool. I vented mine after it melted down, and I haven't had a problem since. It's really like Brent said, you can actually touch it after a long ride without getting burned. Makes a HUGE difference. I bought red caliper paint last week, just haven't gone ahead and done it yet. Again, Nice work. Very smooth lines on the cooling vents.
Also - the red on black looks pretty sick. Show us a pic of the whole thing!

What? I thought those Keli belts were supposed to last? ! That sucks man! The rest of the updates and mods sound killer! Nice paint! I painted my Autotech clutch too. I have had great luck with the Prodigy products! Good stuff! My Prodigy clutch and bell never slipped, i get a Polini 2GEvo clutch and it slips like its a stall or something? I think i messed up when i bought the cheap TNT bell for it? . Hows your Prodigy stuff treat you? Glad to hear you got the Triton all caught up ;D

Oh I love this clutch. Now that I have the 2K springs in it, it launches when I hit the gas. I was at a stop light yesterday and I revved the engine up to juuuuust before the clutch engaged. Light turned green, and the front wheel came off the ground as I got about 50 feet in front of the car next to me ;D

Got a new digital speedo yesterday. It took me a few hours to get the wiring right, because it was made for a different scoot. After getting it all hooked up, The gas gauge is off (my tank is almost empty, it shows as almost full) and its in KM/H. I now believe people were right when they said the digital speedos fixed the TERRIBLE speedometer issue. My bike speedo was saying 25mph and the digital was saying 45kph. That's almost dead-on. Now if only the gas gauge would work!
Oh and another thing. It has a tach on it, and it says it's idling at around 25 x100r/m. Does that sound right to you guys? My clutch doesnt engage until around 35 to 38 on the tach, and I'm running 1500 torque, and 2000 clutch.

Cool, so I'm not going crazy then I figured out that if you hit enough buttons, you can switch it to MPH ;D Now if only I could set the clock. I'm thinking I'll just wait until noon and then plug the clock in so its on time Very good job on the cvt cover BTW Reign Thanks dude! I tried my hardest to get it as nice as Brent's. I think it paid off
