Kick ass man! Great scoot. Sure hauls ass ! Good job Thanks dude! I wish I wouldve been at TNG and had people laugh at me for having a stock crank like they did at you Then after the race, "Yea, it's stock, but it still beat you buddy!" :thumb:

Yes it would have been great to have you there. You woulda kicked my butt if your scooter ran like that, that day  ! It would have been nice to see another guy from 49ccScoot.com win it tho if i couldnt ;D! Dosnt sound like its revving too high in the vid, how high you revving that Sport kit anyway? I wonder just how many that talk about the stock cranks failing have actually done it or seen it ?

7,000-8,000 miles out of a stock (albeit longer stroke) crank with a big ol 54mm piston swinging at 10000RPM. Thats what Chinese made T2 did. Other than being bigger it looked like it was made the same as teh 49cc stock crank. I pulled that out of T1 with 4000+ miles total and 3,000 miles with a sport style kit revving hard most of the time and it was in great condition. I can't say I lose sleep at night over stock cranks and sport kits. Might be another story when you start revving to the sky.

The most I saw from my tach was around 8800. I've got around 5500 miles on this crank, and it's still running strong! I figure I'll run it til something serious breaks, and then I'll take my spare QMB and remake it, only better!

So the other day I took my scooter out in the 97 degree, 70% humidity day. I was running my usual tune (that I tuned in about 55-60 degree weather) And it seemed to be running ok. On my way back home, I was about 3 miles from my house and it starts misfiring. I hit the gas, and you can feel it pulling, and then a second of nothing, and more pulling, and a second of nothing. You can hear it stuttering.
So I got it home, put it in the garage, and brought it back out today. Same thing. No matter how rich or lean I make it, it does nothing but stutter. I'm pretty sure I was running it rich the other day, and with that kind of heat and humidity, It was probably overheating.
Did I overheat it and screw something up? Do I need a new BBK?

If it will run OK off and on it's doubtful that you need a new BBK. Pull your spark plug and see what it looks like. It sounds more like the symptoms of an ignition issue.

I agree.. Or maybe reeds? Take a look at things starting from easy to harder to check.

Just pulled the plug. It's completely black, except for the end of the iridium, which is white. I'm gonna grab a picture in a second.

I'm just about to throw my non-iridium plug that I got when I first put the BBK on. Until then, what do you guys make of this: After testing it with the old plug, it still stutters. I'm gonna try changing out the ignition coil. EDIT: Changed the ignition coil to a different style one, It at least runs, not sure if it still stutters or not. I really don't feel like putting all the plastics back together to test it out, only to find out that it's something else...

I think you need to go up two heat ranges on the plug. Is the compression good?

Try one of those E3,s man. Looks like it could be on the rich side too. Hard to tell with an older plug. Im sure you will get it. It sure is hard to really KILL a good Polini iron sport kit. With the average use that is....

I got a E3.46 today. They had every number except 31, which is the actual plug I needed. 46 is the same size, probably a different heat range, but it works. After changing the ignition coil, throwing in the E3, and changing the main jet back to 82.5, it seems to be running well again. We'll see if it stays that way. I still don't quite have the tuning thing down yet
