That is very useful information, Thank you. Today I got my aftermarket "Racing" variator however the hole in the pulley is too small. So the boss will not fit through it. Waste of money. This is the one I bought: www.ebay.com/itm/400318594209?ssPageName=STRKCan anyone point me to one that will work and does improve the dynamics of the transmission? Thanks

Well, I got my pipe yesterday and I took the silencer off and welded a nut between the pipe and the silencer then ran stainless steel wire through the nut and around the silencer. I opened the mounting holes up and added rubber bushings. I did these things in the hopes the silencer wouldn't snap off at the end of the expansion chamber due to vibration and bumpy roads. Anyway... I like the looks and the sound of the pipe though it's not as loud as I had hoped. The performance sucks. It took a lot out of the low end speed and added to the top speed. It will peg the needle now but takes much longer to get up to 40 but once I hit 40 I have loads of power. Some would like this but I do not. I like to get to 40mph with a quickness and don't care to go much faster than that. I am tempted to put the stock pipe back on because it performed great with it there. I could about do a wheelie on take off and could hit 40 in no time at all. Before I go back to the stock pipe is there anything I can try with the transmission to get the low end grunt back? My rollers are already light at 5g and that was perfect with the stock pipe. Any suggestions? Thanks

Lighter weights.. It needs to rev more to "hit the pipe"

Lighter weights.. It needs to rev more to "hit the pipe" What about putting only 3 weights in can I do that? If so I will try it with 3, 7g weights... Right now it has 6, 5g weights in there so that totals 30g If I can run just 3 weights 3, 7g weights would total 21g

In my Zuma (vertical) I am running 3.5g weights, standard take-up spring, and the heaviest clutch springs. I have up-geared 33% (in the final drive) and am running a low profile tire on the rear (130.70 rather than the stock 130.90, about 10% smaller).
It is the heavier clutch springs that will get you "out of the hole", the lighter variator weights will maintain your engine @ a higher than stock rpm vs. speed.

You can try that yes.. That will let you know for sure if it needs to rev more.?
Nice Jog. Thinking of picking one up just like that?

Hey thanks! I like it. Jogs are where it's at. These guys can keep their Chinese scoots. Here's a jog in Syracuse Indiana but the guy is crazy high on his price I think. I got mine for $125 and it ran perfect just needed TLC and brakes, lol. www.ebay.com/itm/190728756860?ssPageName=STRKCraigslist would be a better bet. I put an add on there that I wanted a jog, that's how I got 2 Ok, I will try lighter weights and let you know how it works out. I got pulled over by a county deputy today He said legally in Indiana I must stay below 25mph without plating and insuring the scooter. He said I was going 36 in a 35. I saw his speed trap beforehand and eased off otherwise he'd have gotten me above 40. I thought the limit for these scooters was 35 so to hear they expect me to keep it under 25 is a blow. He wrote me a warning.

I had a 98 Jog years ago. Miss it! Yeah, they did that to me here in IN a few years back. 43 in a 40, "going with the flow of traffic". Impounded scoot, jailed... I huge PITA!! (charges dropped) Be careful, and be safe

A buddy of mine works nights at the gas station in town and he's friends with the town cops. I just went to show him my pipe (he's a scooter guy too) and he was talking with a cop when i got there so I told them about me getting stopped and the cop said about the only time I will have a problem like that is when I go into Marion. The Gas City and Jonesboro cops wouldn't bother me. He told me if they were to stop scooters for speeding they would need to hire 3 more full time cops they'd be so busy stopping them. He also said technically scooters all have to be plated and the only ones considered legal to be ridden un plated are actual mopeds with pedals. But that our County's prosecutor doesn't want to enforce it.
Anyway... I took my 5g weights out tonight and put 3, 7g weights in and I could notice a difference it's closer to right however it's still not right. From a stop when I open it up it feels like it's holding back then suddenly I get a burst of speed. Even when I am going 30 and nail the gas it holds back then bursts. It still gets up to 45 ish even with the lighter weights. It sounds hella cool though at 3am when all's quiet, lol. What should I try next? Even lighter weights? Thanks

I suppose it could be a jetting issue now. It really only holds back and bursts from a stop i guess or at very low speed. I should go bigger on the jet yes? I got this air filter: www.ebay.com/itm/280961193762?ssPageName=STRK In the stock airbox and then with adding the pipe I am almost sure I should upjet? What are the symptoms normally that a larger jet is needed please? Is what I am feeling jet related do you think or should I try even lighter rollers first? Thanks

I just took the 3, 7g weights out and put in 3, 5g weights and it's about the same. Still gets 40+mph but off the line it seems like it's holding back for a few seconds then it bursts and is great. It's about the same as when I had the 7g weights in. I don't know what to try next. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, when I turn the screw out it gets worse. It wasn't very far out to start with. When I turn it all the way in it gets a little better. So which way should I move the clip up or down? And should I put the mixture screw back where it was when I move the clip or will I have to adjust it anyway? Thanks
