if you are less then 1 turn out a smaller pilot might be what you need but if turning it in made it better and you dont have a smaller pj i would drop the needle to lean it out a bit (drop the needle means raise the clip)

Is there anything else I can try?

I went the other way with the needle tonight and it seems happier richer. Someone remarked that the coloration of my pipe lead them to believe it was too lean. I haven't checked the plug yet. I will go ahead and order a smaller pilot jet if you could help me with a link? What size is stock and what would be the next smaller size? I am definitely the fastest 50cc around. I have raced everyone that will race me and I smoke them all. I even beat a 150 Chinese scoot off the line and to my top speed. I can smoke the tire and about do a wheelie without trying. My top speed is around 47mph. I still have the 3, 7g rollers in there so I am going to order some sliders I am thinking 3.5g but not sure yet. I hear sliders are a lot different even when you find the roller weight your happy with. Something about sliders cover a different range like 4g sliders are like 3g to 5 g rollers? I am confused. I have 1k clutch springs in, Tried 1.5k but I like the 1k best. I have a 1k contra spring I am thinking about installing. Is that recommended? Thanks a bunch for all your help I really appreciate it. I put these turn signals on the back: www.ebay.com/itm/140846249388?ssPageName=STRK They were $2.99 shipped and I really like them. They look great on there are are much shorter which is what I was after. I would recommend them they only took a week to get to me from China. The only down side is you have to crimp the connectors on the bike to make them fit. The connectors on the lights are a tad smaller. No big deal. So Please let me know about the pilot jet, recommended slider weight for my application and the contra spring. Thanks again! I have learned a lot and am enjoying this experience. Now, everyone asks me to make their scooters faster and I always refer them to this forum so they can learn how to do it themselves. You guys are great!

I have a 2000 Jog that is exactly the same model as yours. White and purple, my first scooter at 14 years old. 55 mph with Athena Racing aluminium 50cc, athena belt, variator and unknown brand clutch. I still have it, but oil pump wasn't working and killed the engine, and I want to get it alive again one day... after the Zuma! Ophir4U on eBay sells 19mm carburetor for around $35, I've installed 3 of them and they work pretty well, not as good as a true Dellorto but they are a good upgrade or remplacement for cheap.

That seller doesn't seem to have any listed. Do you guys think this 19mm carb is good for my 1997 cy50 jog? www.ebay.com/itm/370517357594?ssPageName=STRKThere are a lot of different brand 19mm carbs on ebay that say they will fit jog but I am unsure which one to buy. What are the brands I should be looking for? I'd like to get a quality carb that I can find jets for. Thanks guys!

did you try going the other way with the needle you may actauly need to change the pilot jet UPDATE: I decided to change to the carbon fiber reeds that seller sent me by mistake and said I could keep. While I was at it I cleaned the carb. That's something I normally do when I buy anythings is clean the carb but the thing ran so good with the stock pipe on I didn't bother. The carb was spick and span but I went through it anyway. While taking the reed cage out I found that one of the little rubber tabs from the boot where the carb goes, the tabs that let you know the carb is installed level, was stuck down inside the reed cage propping a reed open. Took it out, changed the reeds put everything back together and poof the thing is 100% even with the aftermarket pipe and the a/f screw is happy out just a touch over 2 turns. Was it dirt in the carb? Was it worn out reeds? Was it the rubber piece in the reed cage? We will never know but the sob is right now so Great! I still want to buy a bigger carb for giggles so if anyone else could chime in about that. I want a cheepy. Kevin, Thanks for refering me to that$30 carb, I had looked at that listing but found similar carbs for under $25 so I figured the extra $5 for his was for the fuel filter he throws in the on the deal. I am considering this one: www.ebay.com/itm/370517357594?ssPageName=STRKor this one: www.ebay.com/itm/CARBURETOR-YAMAHA-JOG-50-50cc-SCOOTER-CARB-/380465977914?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item58958a1a3a&vxp=mtrOR here's a 19mm TK for $36.50 shipped: www.ebay.com/itm/New-Genuine-TK-Minarelli-1E40QMB-Carbuerator-ATV-19mm-/330609388680?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item4cf9daec88&vxp=mtror the one you linked to above. Just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with any of these?

It says "Runtong" on it... Help me figure this out, when I google "Runtong Yamaha Jog" I get some results for a china carb. When I look at the specs it says "Outlet diameter of mixed chamber: Φ24mm" This can't be a 24mm carb? A 24mm carb wouldn't fit in the boot and the stock air box wouldn't fit on it? Would it? Again I am confused. On the other hand I have an old razz carb, I compared the outlets and they look the same size. Anyone? Edit: I just measured the ID of the razz carb outlet and it's 14mm I really don't want to take this carb back off my jog to measure it so anyone know anything about "Runtong"? Please??

I don't think the $5 more was for the filter. The link I sent was a Wabron brand carburetor. It has a ''coating'' inside that looks to keep it clean. Nothing stick in these. The one you sent is a Mikuni copy. I don't know them, but the one at $30 is true bolt-on: only need to adjust mainjet and jetting is pretty close on 70 BBK. It uses the same cable as the Jog standard carburetor. Did you looked well at the carburetor top for the cable fitting? $30 is threaded like oem one.
