Hey, the belt size I gave 669-18-30 is not the proper belt size for the UM/Hyosung scooter. I put it on today to find it way too short and wide. It is not made for our scoots so don't buy one. The belt for the UM/Hyosung SF/Xpeed 50R can be ordered from Heeters, the part # is HYO-27601HG2600. The stock belt is 16.5x722 and is made by Mitsuboshi but good luck on finding a Mitsuboshi belt. Maybe a Bando but I was unable to find one from that maker as well. $39.95 is the price at Heeters so I ordered one. Alpha sells that same belt for $111.00.

yeah , I am really sorry. I feel like you bought that size because I was throwing that number around. I did tell you though that we don't have the same scoot. My scoot is a sb50 engine. Well the 669 is right for mine. If you can't return the belt, maybe i'll buy it off you. How much did you pay for it? By the way did you ever see this: www.scribd.com/doc/18981654/hyosungSF50 it is the manual for a hyosung prima with SF50 engine there is also a manula for the SD 50 here: www.scribd.com/doc/18981586/hyosungSD50sadly though, no SB 50

No Red, I didn't purchase that belt because of your advice, I bought it because that belt came up on monster under goodies for the Hyosung SF 50. It sounded strange to me but I bought it anyway. It was 39.95, I'll save it till you need it. Thanks for the link to the owners manual.

My new belt arrived today from Heeters Performance, original 16.5x722 Mitsuboshi. Will switch it out and save the old one for emergencies. Oh yeah, I swapped out the 6gr sliders for 6.5's and can do 40mph without wringing the throttle to it's stop and takeoff is very similar to the 6's. Think I'm where I want to be with49cc's.

I have found that I prefer when my scoot is not working properly. You can't fix it if it ain't broke!

Don't know yet! Maybe some more paint touch-up (boring), I want to hold off on any major mods such as BBK and just try to appreciate the scoot and what it's presently putting out...maybe I'll do some mods to the poor, neglected Maui and post the results in the 4 stroke section. It's been raining most of the day here and I just haven't felt motivated enough to make my way out to the shed to work on either scoot.

Mod the Maui till it can keep with the Xpeed... then mod the Xpeed some more... and so on.

Need a belt This place had two store fronts of belts from huge 2 meter belts down to tiny 10 or 20 cm belts and some are mitsuboshi.

Today, being dissatisfied with the performance of my scooter, I changed the belt with a new one; the original belt had 11,000 miles on it and appeared to be in fairly good shape aside from a little fraying on it's edges and was a tad thinner from the new one. While at it, I decided to mix and match the slider weights...three 6 gr and three 6.5 gr. On the flat my speed went from 40 mph to 42 mph; on a descending slope my speed was up to 46 mph. 1.5 grams and a new belt must have the belt in the right place on the variator faces, WOO-HOO!!! Just when you think things are satisfactory, you lie in bed at night calculating small numbers and thinking back on bits of information that Brent and 2stroked mentioned in their posts and others, and you realize, I'm not finished yet...much more to do. Here's my happy dance :nana: jubilation  and dawning reality  . :scoot: :scoot2: :riding:

Great results! 11,000 miles on the last belt... that's impressive as well.
