With your piston all the way down look into your exhaust port and see if any of the piston is visible. That should dictate your port timing.

Sounds about right. You can add base gaskets or a spacer if needed. I don't think the timing and compression are the reason it's not starting though. Now that you say that, I switched back to the dellorto and bam. Started right up. I'm using a 118 at the moment, and revs real nice up util 1/2 to 3/4 Boggs like hell. I don't want to ride yet in fear of blow a hole through another piston. Lower my main? My plug showed it was fairly wet. Sounds like you need to use a smaller main. The wet plug should be a giveaway, but you can also listen to know if it's a rich or lean bog. Lean usually sounds clean. Rich is often a sputter or gurgle.

Moving down to a 100. Unfortunately the only jets i have for the dellorto are 90,100,118,130, and 133. Hopefully she responds well, and not lean. I feel like my idle may be way too high, or maybe its just me doubting 20cc's more power from the 90. I sent back the other Koso tach that I purchased, and got the right one so no tach for rpm readings unfortunately. I'll post back shortly with a video.

The tail light could be 2 common things. First, could be that the idle is too low to keep it lit. That happens a lot with LED bulbs. If it's incandescent it will tend to just be dim. Other problem is, a lot of stock housings suck and the bulbs get loose. This is why both all of my scoots have aftermarket LED assemblies. I got tired of messing with the stockers. Well, not sure the assembly is all to blame. The amount of vibration in these scoots will kill stuff quick. I've killed aftermarket lights too. Gotta mount them so they have some sort of damping. For the carb tune, can't tell exactly where you are on the throttle when what is going on in the vid. I would suggest reading this. It's important to understand what does what to save you a lot of time tuning... home.everestkc.net/malsin/Motorcycle/carb/mc_carb_theory_101.htmwww.causticbelt.com/DellOrtoMAJ01.pdf

I've done my fair share of research on how the carb works; however, I still cannot seem to get it dialed in. In the video that you see i was using a 100 main, needle clip setting at the leanest setting with the uni filter on. 1/4 throttle is spot on and comes down to a subtle rpm smooth so i know my a/f is on, sputters on half throttle and then at full throttle would get peppy. I took off the uni and went back to the stock air box with an 85 main. The problem worsened only this time i couldn't even get passed the 1/2 without choking her out. I'm still too rich. I took off the stock airbox and threw the uni pod back on and the same thing. Thick smoke and so much to where it is spitting out of the exhaust on to my shoes( yet again too rich). I'm now going back to the 100 Main, Uni Pod filter, 70 Pilot , W7 Needle at leanest, and 90cc hoca pipe (best most responsive setup). The question i wanted to ask everyone here who has a 100cc 2 stroke is, what are your specific carb settings that work for you?(Needle#, Clip position ,Pilot# ,Idle# ,Main#, Atomiser, exhaust, intake, reeds? im about 1,000ft above sea level. I'll be getting some really nice weather here pretty soon and have been dying for a ride longer than down the block and back up to look at plugs.

I've got/had quite a few 96-103cc setups, but none seem to take the exact same tune. Here, at 40ft above sea level, most of mine will run 92-98 main jets with that size carb. I use the stock airbox with the snorkel removed though, no open filters. I tried an airbox with UNI filter vents once and jetting went up to 106 from 98, otherwise the same setup.
I think all of mine are using 32-35 pilot for the 21mm. A 70 sounds huge to me. Haven't needed to swap the atomizer. I have a selection of needles around, but IIRC the W4 and W7 are the 2 I've almost always ended up using.
I can give you one tip that will save you a lot of headaches, based on what you have been doing. Pick which filter you want, either the UNI or the airbox, and work only on the tune for it. Just focus on one thing at a time.

Went with the stock air box and my gut. Threw in an 82 and adjusted my idle once warm. Was able to get through all ranges of the throttle except I get just a bit of hesitation just before the power band and then kicks like a mule. After a brief ride for some load, I revved at wot for a few seconds on the main stand, hit the kill switch, and let her cool off. Plug looks a little rich to me what do you guys think? Attachments:

on 103 i would not go under a 82 i really would not. to me that sounds really unsafe (lean-hot) also do you know the size of your stinger inside diameter. i was running hot with my stage 6 pipe and when i switched to 28mm keihin carb it really helped cool and compensate for the 18mm stinger i have.

Well, I realized yesterday when I went out for the ride with the stock airbox on that it had actually fallen off while I was taking off from my driveway. So the test run was actually without the stock air box and no filter. I threw on my uni and I'm definitely still running a bit rich. I'm also surprised that the jet is so small but then again I am about 1,025ft above sea level where the air has low levels of O2, much less dense. Forgive me but where is the stinger located? The cylinder exhaust port, The intake manifold port, or the exhaust port of the carb? Never heard the term stinger before.
