That carb you are looking to buy looks like it has an actual manual choke on it but it may not be jetted properly for a 2T. I've seen those carbs on 4T pit bikes and 4T street bikes with engines like this:

On top of the things Fox mentioned... You'd need to measure the distance between the two mounting holes on your carb and find out the distance between the holes on the carb you're interested in.

well decided to get the new style Minarelli style carburetor. i know i can get a new manifold or just cut mine off as i have read in some post. what do you cut the manifold with ? im going this route as i can get the carb for 19 bucks off ebay. and the original is 120 bucks

I f the intake is metal you can se a hacksaw or sawzall. Just make sure you get a nice straight cut so you aren't stuck buying a new intake. You'll probably need a rubber adapter to be able to mount the minarelli carb.
I still think with a bit of patience and time spent on your carb you might be able to save yourself some money, but if you aren't comfortable messing with the carb it's your choice.

NP. Congrats on the new scoot. You probably already know it, but just wanted to make sure it's clear that the intake needs to be off when you cut it. You really don't want metal dust in your engine.

another try again today and the motor seems to be flooded with fuel so i got it open so the gas can evaporate out. my question for the day is could the reed valve be causing all this flooding some how. just a reminder this bike had set for 5 plus years i think. i know the carb is clean and i put in new gas and all that change the hoses too. so what your folks take on why this thing is flooding so badly?

tried her again today with no luck this morning. went to wally world with a thought maybe a dead spark plug. well found one that would fit with out putting a hole in the piston and guess what darn thing started right off the bat. never heard of a plug just not firing anymore. guess 1st time for everything for me. been riding it around for 2 hours but sounds like the clutch is rattling some guess it'll need changing. have to admit having a bike set for so long might have been worth leaving alone, but i sure can work on one now. the 150cc is up and running go get it tagged tomorrow then ill get some pics for you guys/gals

Good to hear it's running and starting right now. If the rattling you hear is at idle it could be worn or missing guides for the ramp plate. Make sure you inspect everything before you plan on replacing anything.
